Stillen S/C will be here Thurs!!!!
I have read that this kit has the "coolest" charge temps of any kit. How do they cool the air stream? Does it have an inter-cooler? Is the only difference between Stage 2 and 3 the size of the pulley? This sounds like what I have been looking for. I'm not real fond of the hood, however. Does anyone else make one for the sedan that doesn't have that "bee sting" on the bulge?
Stillen only has the warranty if you had a certified installer install the kit at a shop.

I guess I did not know what to expect. I love the instant power and the sound. But I am one of those people that always wants more so I will be going to stage 3 and probably stage 4 after a while. The thing that I was not expecting is the great highway gains. When you are going 65-70 in 6th gear you can just press the gas and the power is there.
Don't let me discourage you. The kit is awesome. I have never been in another G or 350 with FI so I did not know what to expect. For me this was the right kit, I have no doubt in that. If I had more money I would have gone with the JWT TT kit but that was not in the cards right now. They are more $ and I would not have been able to install them myslef. Plus the Stillen does have the 3/36,000. It has lots of power, looks great (yes, I even like the hood, CF on a black car looks cool to me) and it's tons of fun. If you are going for big numbers this is not the kit for you. If you want lots of fun around town without having to stay up in the revs all the time and can't afford APS or JWT this is the kit for you.

278 hp and 250 tq is very low. I mean my stock 05 did 253 hp and 231 tq. I think something isn't right with your install. Most Stillen Installs I have seen make over 330 hp and tq at the wheels. And wheels will not make a 50-60 hp/tq difference.

The kit comes with a 7th injector right after the throttle body that "richens" the air so you don't have to change the injectors. It is controlled by a stand alone box that taps into the vacuum lines, crank position, and cam position sensors. Other than that the engine management is all stock. It seems to work well because I got dyno'd today and my A/F was 11.3 to 11.7 all the way through the power band.
I took my time and even ran into a few small problems on the install. It took me about 18 hours to do the install. I could do another one in half the time now that I know what I am doing.
Before you ask, here are my dyno results. Please keep in mind that this was at ~85 degrees with almost no humidity and on a dyno dynamics that they warned me typically gives low numbers. Also they said my heavy 20's are taking a good amount of power too.
I made 278HP and 250Ft-Lbs. The torque band was almost completely flat from 2400 to 5500 rpm. This kit does have massive torque as soon as you step on it. They said on my stock wheels/tires and on a normal dyno I would easily make 300rwhp.
Hope this helps. If I had to do it over again I would still buy this kit...

The numbers are right on for the Stage 2 and this type of a Dyno. The Stage 2 is ~93Hp at the crank which would be ~360 on my car and that is what is equates to. If I was on a Dynapak then I would have at least 330 at the wheels. There is nothing wrong with the install. My A/F is between 11 and 12 and the boost is just over 6lbs. It honestly is the dyno, they even told me themselves and beleve me they were trying very, very hard to sell me an APS ST or TT because they are not a Stillen dealer. But they even agreed everything looked good on the kit. I would have to go to Stage 3 to get over 300WHP on this dyno. The said they have dyno'd 6 of these Stillen S/C's now and they always make 270-290rwhp with the Stage 2 on their dyno.
It does not drop off drasticaly after 5500. It drops about 25ft-lbs over the final 1,000rpm.
There is no way it is the coolest air. It does have an air-to-water intercooler but the upper one that is under the blower inside the plenum is quite small and sharing metal with the plenum that gets quite warm. I would bet any of the kits with the front mount air-to-air intercooler would have lower temp air.

I have a certified mechanic giving me a receipt for the istallation to get the warranty. I did some work for him on his 450rwhp Accord so he trusts me.

In all my research I have never seen a Stage 2 making 330rwhp on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno and I have spoken to about 10 people with the kit. Who is making that kind power? Stillen should use them as advertising since their 350Z does not make that much...

Yea, I agree. I am going to eventually get a dyno done on an Dynapak so I can give them the #'s they are looking for.
I did not Dyno my car before the install but they told me that all the 03/04 G35 Sedans they have done are getting between 210 and 215HP. I did not ask on the TQ.
