DaveO posted the reasons why he didn't go with the factory dual fan set up here on Driver a long time ago. If I remember correctly he said the following parts would need to be changed out or significantly modified:

1. IPDM E/R
2. Engine room wiring harness
3. Radiator

By the way, I'm surprised that anyone's still interested in this mod since the clueless one has declared it doesn't work. (Not that he tried it for himself of course.)

Ignoring the crack and getting to the point:

IPDM E/R = ?

Wiring harness. I would assume if one just ignores that they are factory fans and hooks them up like an aftermarket fan, an aftermarket wiring solution would work?

Radiator? As in the factory fans don't mount directly (or easily) to the fan type radiator?

IPDM E/R = Intelligent Power Distribution Module - Engine Room

Feel free make that assumption.

You are correct.

My friend the search revealed the following threads up through 12/26/03. There have been several more related threads since then.

One particular thread stood out to me...
https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...fan+conversion I took note of DaveO's final post on this thread - I've also talked with him about the hours of R&D he spent developing and testing this mod. It was quite interesting.

Thanks for the info. As a note, if you think I haven't done my searching duty, I have reviewed most of not all of Dave O's threads. But I've might have missed individual posts and post by other members. Hence the question.

Sure looks like anther good sticky thread huh?

Just had my e-fan conversion done by DaveO, this past weekend, And all I have to say is that its a difference between night and day, it accelerates alot harder from a dead stop, and you can diffently feel the power.

Gotta say that this is the best mod ever for the price!
Thank you DaveO for sharing this great mod!

DaveO is very insightful and always a great help! Wish he would chime in to these boards again... Maybe it's because there are still posts that say SportZ - and haven’t been switched to NissanSport?...

BTW - this thread started (way back when) as a DaveO/SocalTed mod... what ever happened to SoCalTed?

Any before and after dynos? We have yet to see a dyno that's give us definitive proof this mod does anything. I'd do it in a heart beat if someone actually posted a before and after dyno. Sorry, but I don't believe in the butt dynos. Unfortunately, at least for me, I've bought into people's butt dynos only to see no gains on the dyno nor on the strip.

There is parasitic loss when running the fan off the motor, no surprise you gain HP when going to an electric fan just like if you would gain HP from an electric water pump.

Guys, can all parties please be civil. If not, there will be some appropriate action taken on the users and the posts within this thread.

Thanks.
