Oil Catch Cans....several available!

I spent at least a month trying to figure out how to install my pretty chrome
NRG can. Spent $7 a foot for black hose I knew wouldn't collapse. Cut off
the power steering reservoir bracket so I'd have more room and finally installed
the NRG can. It was putting pressure on the reservoir and almost rubbing the
upper radiator hose, none of these appealed to me. So I took it off and headed to
Home Depot with pictures and the name of the can most of you have. The
only person I found to talk to told me "They didn't carry it." I went over to
the tool section where I found what I was looking for. I then went another
small hardware store and found 45 degree fittings that make installing this
catch can a breeze......WTF it works too! Anyone want a NRG chrome catch
can cheap... .....?

shoot me a pic and your price. I'm interested in your NRG. The ghetto Home Depot one is too small for me, I put on a lot of miles and have to empty the damn thing every week, it's getting old very fast.

I've been using it for about 10k miles now and it's still holding up well. I'm not too concerned because it's intended use is in air compressors which typically will have a working pressure of upto 140psi. In this application it's being used in a low vaccum so the stresses are not as great.

I've had mine on for ~9 months using M1 15W50 and boosting up to ~12psi with it and no problems.

what do you think about it? previously some one says it wont work because it will not alow vacum to create. But why its works in other cars? I see it in Supras, RX-7 etc..

When does Home Depot ever know what customers are talking about...
Try Lowe's or maybe Sears. Any place that sells stuff for Air Compressors. That's all this thing is, an oil/water separator for air compressors.

I like the bracket that the OP has installed. Has anyone else done this? Where did you get it?

I used a piece of 0.063 (1/16") anodized aluminum.

I installed this on my 04 Coupe last week. After about 500 miles of driving I had about a teaspoon of oil in the catch can. Is this normal??

Is that a good or a bad thing?

I had a 1990 TSI Talon with BAD blow by, and it accumulated less oil than my new G35

After 500 miles mine is filled up to within 1/2" from the top. I need to empty it every other week.
