I would love to hear what a US commentator would have to say about Celtic and Rangers fans killing each other at the stadium because those jerseys they wear respresent not only their favorite team but their religion. In some countries soccer is way more than just a game...
Where my family is from they care about their national team but not as much as they care about Brazil. I remember one time I was visiting Haiti as a kid and they cut off the electricity for two days because Brazil lost a match. In fact nowadays the people know more about the Brazilian team than the domestic team. My parents said that there was absolute madness in 1974 when Haiti qualified as the first carribean team in the World Cup and there were constant celebrations and chanting of slogans all night long about going to Munich.

The Germans will never have the soul the Brazilian team shows in their games. Nothing spectacular about the way they play, not to mention their players are ugly.

I'm better than making girly statements like that No, but I figured, if a team is nothing particularly spectacular to watch, might as well look at the soccer players, and the Germans are nothing to write home about. Actually, many many years ago I used to have a thing for Sascha Roessler back when he played in 2nd Bundesleague...

And don't tell me that if this was FIFA's womens world cup, you wouldn't be rooting for the team with the hottest girls

the brazilians are just pure skill...they are getting better every game and if they play as a team the finals will be 4-0...if not then they will only win 2-1....but they will win because of pure talent alone

Ok, to the one that thinks Germany will win it: IMPOSSIBLE. Why? Because if Argentina doesnt beat them, then Italy will in the semifinals. Guaranteed. Italy is going to the finals and will win it, even though they havent been playing great. You will see next game, they are going to play a totally different game, just as soon as Inzaghi goes in. And the reason the will win the whole thing is because their defense is inpenatrable, the only people that can score on them is themselves.

damn i keep missing the crazy games. i did get to see the brazil/ghana match today which was pretty decent. ghana played really well but brazil just did what they do. i was sad to see holland out since i always liked them. to be honest, i dont really have a strong guess for who will win. theres still a lot of very strong teams left so we'll have to wait and see.

I am so mad that I missed the supposed chaos that was Portugal/Netherlands - 16 yellows? I saw that now there are over 300 yellow cards!

I am glad that the French have finally woken up and started playing a bit more like they are supposed to, but its still not enough to convinve me they have a decent chance though.
