No one here is arguing that Italy played better, it was a really ugly game. No doubt the outcome could have been different had Zidane stayed till the end. But that's too many could've would've should've. The fact of the matter is, France couldn't take the pressure, first Zidane, then Trezeguet. They lost the game on a psychological level, and there's a lot more to soccer than skill with the ball, it's not always fair and it's not always pretty, but Italy deserved to win this game.
