Florida G Club Reorganization
Moving this discussion to where it belongs...
That line of reasoning is a bit circular.
Do we not have a director in Pensacola because of lack of members or do we not have members in Pensacola because of a lack of a director?
I wouldn't mind handling NW FL. Granted, I'm still a good distance from Pcola, but I'm a LOT closer than Lyndon.
Also, the G/Z guys that meet monthly have moved their meet from Pcola to Destin.
I'm back-and-forth to Panama City fairly often, and I'd be all over a trip to Destin for a G/Z meet.
In fact, I'd be there for the meet next weekend if not for matters beyond my control
I honestly don't want ALL of North FL though, because I'm never in Jax, and besides that Lyndon already does an AWESOME job of handling the NE region, and I wouldn't even pretend to be able to fill those shoes.
How big of a following do we have in the Pensacola area? And who would be the director there. It would be pointless to make a new officer position if were only going to get 2-3 cars out of it. As I stated above if we can refrain from discussing in here to minimize confusion when doing the final count, please post in the Reorganization thread and we will see where to go from there.

Okay. Unfortunatly It is not up to me to designate if we add another director to the group. I believe I would have to check with W0ady on this one and we shall go from there. Thanks for the input.
Again, bringing this discussion into the proper thread...
Yes, there's a meet next week. Supposed to be in Destin, and Pensacola: https://g35driver.com/forums/southea...ndle-meet.html
I have been asked to throw in my two cents
I'm glad to see the sudden burst of interest for the club.
What Chad said is exactly on point. It's a catch 22, as Lyndon mentioned. As directors, we have a private forum where we have been discussing this issue for, oh, probably over a year now. We've been working on finding someone to fix/update the website, planning bigger meets, making new shirts and stickers, finding new sponsors and renewing old sponsors, etc. We want to provide reasons for people to pay their membership. About two months ago, Ian came over to my place and we spent a few hours discussing and working on things on the computer.
Over the past year and a half I have tried very, very hard to do things that were right for the club. Planning meets, helping out Orlando Infiniti customers, etc. At times, I have felt that the things I, and other directors, have been taken for granted. It's often a struggle to justify taking time out of my crazy life to do something that will just burn me in the end.
In summary, the ideas that have been thrown out are all great ideas. Lyndon's idea of letting everyone get organized I feel is the best way to go before anything drastic happens.
My suggestion would be, if anyone still wants me around, to remain VP and I can help with everything behind the scenes. Since I am no longer quite as active as others, I will resign my CFL Director position for Ricky or someone more active in the Orlando area to step up and plan meets.
Just in case anyone is interested, here are our club's bylaws:

Thanks for the input V. We didnt want anyone to feel like anyone was getting booted out and didnt want anyone to take it to heart. To everyone V is still apart of this vote for VP. Id like to have a sit down between Me, Veronica, and Ian to discuss further plans torwards the club. Glad to see you back V and hope all is well.
Everyone has a busy life which is going to put a little hindrance on getting things done, but we need to find someone who has enough free time to do things. Like i said, i am more than willing to help plan things here around the orlando area, and i will definitely help ricky (if he would like) set up a weekly meet calender so we can know way in advance when and where the meets are.
i agree with chris everyone has jobs and people are busy with there own lives etc but to be fair to the club we need someone who has plenty of FREE TIME to help out with the club this is no means of kicking people out and replacing them for example where is the fgc prez? i bet you half the people on here dont know who is ...... so bottom line is if you dont have enough time to dedicate yourself to the club let someone who has time to do so that is all take it as you want it
I guess as a first incentive to get people to come out to our meets... lets try to talk to the owners of some locations and get them to give us discounts if we get X amount of people to show up. I dont mind talking to some managers in the area (lake mary, sanford, altamonte) and seeing if theyll give a 10% discount per person if we hold a monthly meet at their location... but we would have to have a decent turn out for this!
