I agree, it will also let you know what you can and can't do. And after that first time, it won't be as scary anymore. Just remember, "in a spin, both feet in."

The owner of the track might just be a family friend.
Oh did I forget to mention that. He is very active in Porsche Car Club of America.

I actually did go off track on my first time out. Going into that hard right hand turn before the figure 8 since I tried to brake to late.Originally Posted by audiblemayhem

very true. but I meant safe line. imho, rookies/newbies need to learn the safe line/limit and start pushing from there. learn the safe braking points, turn-ins and apexes (apexi?) and then step it up a notch at a time within their comfort level.Originally Posted by TrackHoRX8
Remember the real racing line (during a race) is where another car isn't.

Great time with you guys even though I was just there to watch.
Ian let me take one of his rounds just so I could have an experience - WHAT FUN!!! Thanks Ian!!
I must say, I was the ABS man. "mr Screeches" I'll do better next time. I was just afraid to overshoot the turn and run off course.
It was great meeting you guys. I thought Jeremy would have been the craziest guy there, but, I'm sorry Jeremy, you were beaten out by the sedan guy. I have a pic of him sleeping but it is 385K so I can't upload it till I get to a comp that has a program that can resize.
Maybe the sedan guy should be your instructor!

You'd need a passenger seat to do that.Originally Posted by audiblemayhem

I completely forgot that this track day was taking place until saturday morning when a guy in a red 350z with gold rims asked me for directions to the track. I was a little busy saturday but I went and took a look for a few minutes and loved watching the black 350z and Serengeti Sand Coupe with loud exhaust notes going on their runs

He needed one bad! He didn't have a good line choice and he wasn't smooth at all.
