You guys have got me thinking. I just sent Performance Motorsports a email. I have a quick question thought. Does it work for the rev up motors?

The JWT has been done on revups. Tuning will vary by the tuner and how they handle the exhaust cam timing.

We have done 5 rev-ups (built and non-built) and working on three more this month.

PM if you need additional information.

Warmly

Michael,

Whats the average HP to the wheels you guys are making on NON-built motors?? I know it varies with the amount of boost...But on a conservative or as we like to pretend calling it "safe" tune what are these cars putting down?

Also how much is it costing to BUILD the motor? And do you feel you'd go one way or the other if given the choice? Between built and non, Thanks...

350-400 WHP

Note: 400 is pushing it on 91 Pump gas - 8.5 PSI using the BB530s.

Crazy: As far I am concerned, I can build you a 500 WHP car and be safe on a stock motor using the BB700 JWT, how? It would be ON RACE FUEL ONLY. Not practical is it? 110 Octane isn't readily available.

In all reality, a built motor is the best way to go for the PEACE OF MIND...Very important in my book.

Please PM for prices yet can range from $6000 - $12000 depending on the goals and objectives.

Thanks

M

Awesome thread

Michael,
Great information. I just got a raise and plan to save my pennies for a possible summer '07 install. So many things to learn for a rookie like myself.

Thanks again for the schooling.

Does anyone know if there will be any licensed JWT installers in Illinois anytime in the near future?

we've pushed out a lot of G35C w/ JWT TT over the last year, and it seems like there are no problems as far as keeping it bolt-on and not altering anything except the clutch/flywheel/exhaust. stop in one day with your club... Dosa (James) with the Black G35c with Mayas knows me =)

in the future, as my power goals would undoubtedly increase, i would then plan on making modifications to address those needs (upgraded cooling, 5AT upgrades, built bottom end, etc)

does anybody on the forum think that 350whp will be too much for my stock rods, pistons, and automatic transmission to take?

with stock rods/pistons but an upgraded stillen valvebody we are able to confidently say everything will be fine up to about 400whp.

also thank you for the kind words steve...

i hear with rods pistons head studs and main studs and cometics head gaskets you can put about 700hp without sleeving with a good tune on a TT kit...but for the extra money on what it costs for sleeves and billet rods...you can probably be able to put well over 1000hp wit a set of descent size turbos...obviously the possibilities are endless and depends on what your using the car for....i look at out cars and the z as the supra/skyline of the 2000's....almost every tuning shop on the planet now is putting out a Z car with something its like in every magazine i look at theres another one and another one and another one....they are finally catching up with our platforms and we can pretty much get whatever HP figure we want but $$$ talks...i personally like the jim wolf kit clean install and the greddy isnt to bad but im looking into top secrets tt setup cause its the only descent kit with tubular manifolds on it and you really cant beat what those crazy guys do over there with there project cars....this is just my 2 cents

Very true, but I was told by Top Secret that their TT kit will only be a Japanese Kit for the (Fairlady Z) made for a right hand drive car, and that no (left hand drive) version will be made, or for sale in the states.
