Also, scaling the SS box is just another thing that could go wrong, and not a good idea, especially with the stock vortech fuel pump. You're just asking for trouble. You're much better off getting a walbro, some 380cc, and a EU.

Speaking of which, someone buy my brand new 380cc injectors!! lol
I'm already hitting 400HP and have plenty of room to go tuning-wise. I can make the car rich as a pig and have plenty of fuel pressure. The fuel system on these cars will flow up to 500HP easily...

Everyone keeps telling to get the aam return fuel line but why is it needed? Do u even use the fuel regulator that comes with the kit or is it all for looks? I wish someone would be up front about the answer.
That's an easy one to work with.

It's all about fuel pressure and keeping it constant. The regulator is a must to make sure you are getting what you need - so you need a gauge as well to keep it monitored.

A return is great, if you are having line pressure issues to begin with.

If I went Turbo and not SC - the fuel system would have been much different as I would have had to manage large boost at low RPM's and all the way til redline. With SC - your safer on the build and fuel system requirements at our power levels.

Honestly - I'd need to see before and afters to make a decision on that change, AND the befores need to be a righteous tune as well.

My plan is to get the most out of the kit the way it comes, then change out to the UTEC and see if it makes ANY difference, then the fuel system.

All for R&D for me...

at wat hp is it needed to get a new fuel line? I'm trying to stay at 400hp without spending 1g on a return line if I dont have to.

My questions is how much hp can u get out of the stock fuel rails if I only upgrade to 440cc + walbro 255?

You should be fine if it is regulated...

what does that mean? get a universal fuel pressure regulator (like the aam)to keep the pressure constant at 52psi?

The dyno is fine and I posted it as well. It is a dyno I have used many times in my testing...it is completely accurate and well cared for as well.

The car has heads and cams and transfers power VERY well down the train. The car, in it's current form, before the SC, dyno'd above 300HP to begin with...the car really does rock man. So about 6PSI and 400HP works just fine...

yea..as long as the pressure holds, you don't have to buy more...

If 52PSI is needed...that's what the tuning will tell you when all is said and done...

More than just heads and cams...with the bolt-ons and tuning, the car hit 292whp and then I added the heads and cams.

It's sort of hard to believe especially when built n/a manuals are having a hard time breaking 300hp but anything is possible if he has the funds to back it up.

He was known to have the fastest auto n/a on this forum but that's wat I heard.

hey, not to be too off topic or anything but how has your fuel economy (in local and cruising on the freeway) changed since going vortech? i know nobody does these things who really cares about fuel economy but i am just curious.

When I drive the car like a human, not speed racer, the mileage has not changed...though it's REALLY hard to resist feeling that boost!!

What is the advantage of a fuel return line?

Does it allow a high power/pressure fuel pump to flow a constant amount of gas all the time and just return what is not used by the engine to the tank? So it would eliminate any lag waiting for a normal pump to increase flow?
