Gates 600-8MGT-20 cog belt for Vortech
I thought I'd share a source to obtain this belt. My belt broke and I searched a lot of places to find one on short notice. This belt is an industrial belt, which is why it's not common in an auto parts store. None in my area had one.
Using the Gates distributor search, I found a national company with many local offices that has them for a good price. www.motionindustries.com You can order it online for $25.98, but I called the local office and got a price of $20.42 and I can get it tomorrow. Regardless, it's still cheaper than the $39 price of the belt from www.superchargersonline.com and their overnight shipping of about $60.
I don't know what Vortech charges for the belt, but it has to be more than $21.

I'm not sure about the cog belts, but I had serpentines go on me. I used to keep one full length belt for everything, and then, I kept a short belt for bypassing the blower is their were to be a bearing failure. (I had idler pulley bearings fail on me.)
At the track, I have seen hard croe race blower snap cog belts on a regular basis.

I found another source in the southeast that has them for $12.38. http://www.powerandpumps.com/company/locations.htm They also ship anywhere. I spoke with Wally - 813-621-8071 x4521

That would be OK with me. It's certainly a lot less than the $39 price online at other places.
Booger, I'm very interested in your new cog belt project. Keep us updated. It would be nice to have no belt slip.
BTW, the cog belts are on Gates' industrial power transmission site.
