I've heard this story several times with the Procharger on stock internals. Sorry to hear this. My tune with Vortech is very conservative and still with stock internals/injectors/fuel pump and have now been boosted for over 50k miles and still running strong. About to sell her though, going to be a sad day...

What happened was completely my fault, i put about 25-30 miles on it untuned with my dw440s. Then I put about 10-15 miles on it untuned when I swapped to my rc750s. But I think the 750s is what killed it. When we tried to do a full pull it basicly spit and sputtered at 2500-3k and just spit fuel out the exhaust. **** sucked but we got it running then she locked up about 2 hours later.

Got the Vortech V2 SC installed in the summer of '08 with about 15k miles, now have about 75k miles. So 60k boosted miles and running strong. 364rwhp 298tq on a dyno dynamics.

Since I've been on here I noticed that the higher mileaged cars tend to have problems when their FI 'd. This is my daily driver I don't want to fork over the money for an engine rebuild after forking over 5,000 for a super charger. I have 130,000 miles on my G and its been very well maintained. What should I do? Are super chargers easier on your car then turbos? He also has a laptop program for his car which is SC'd as well he said he can tune from scratch, is this any good? Truthfully I want between 360-400 whp but my ol' lady will kill me if a blow my daily driver after putting a lot of $$$ in it and I already have another garage project.
I'm no expert in tuning Boosted cars, but from experience even if you decide to go FI... the right way, it'll cost you close to $10k atleast. Going off of your current mods, there are a lot of parts to consider to safely run high boost. And don't even mention that you might be getting your lady mad. lol... that automatically comes with it if you're not expecting to invest more than you planned.

I have an '05 G35X, and recently built internals with Greddy TT Kit. The motor mounts are in the way of charge pipes to turbos so they have to be fabricated and the oil pan is a different shape vs. RWD. More fabrication and headaches... problems to solve. Anyways, I don't mean to scare you like everyone else, but it's true. Prepare to blow stacks of cash if you do...unless you come up on a used build for a decent price. Still going to have to know some things about inspecting a block and signs of a scam.

^ the right way with new rods will cost $20k at least. If everything goes right. Some have put 5 times that into these cars due to successive failures. The car can be a daily driver *after* a point in time but you will want a back up car regardless because of the added maintenance. FI is not a set it and forget it kind of deal. If you don't have $20k sitting in a bank account and a spare car, just do yourself a favor and stay away! ;-)

Question: I'm thinking of running a SC on my 05 AT coup DE engine but was curious as to what I would need for a build. I read around in different forums on here that we can run up to 9 psi on our stock.

I'd really appreciate any help! I'm trying to learn and also trying to see what people run and have a strong lasting engine with a SC that's Carb Legal in CA. Just trying to build a really safe SC build.
Trying to run about 350-450whp if that's possible.

I'm thinking of getting the vortech SC full kit or the Tuner Kit but not sure which one at the moment.

So far that I think I know is that I can't change my pullys because that would make the car not pass smog, Changing Cams, something with oil pump I think? Heard that the HR engine block is a lot more reliable then the DE.

I know to make the engine stronger I should get:
better rods( heard eagle were good)
440cc Injectors

I wish I knew more but still learning the ropes around here. Honestly any criticism and feed back is accepted, I'm still learning so sorry in advance if anything i'm putting down is confusing the hell out of you.

Couple hundred miles so far, I developed a missing problem when the engine gets hot im working on. These are pretty standard numbers for the momentum ST kit.
