That would be another downside, if you're blower goes at low mileage and then they send you something back that had 20,000 miles on it before they fixed it. I'm just speculating though.
I bet you they send a refurbished one.

How much hp with the 3.12 pulley?

Damnit, that's just wrong, it's like the car equivalent of sloppy seconds. I don't want a "tainted" part in my baby. With my luck I'll get something that belonged to a boy racer.

Yeah, that was in 80+ degree weather and with a nanny launch (eased into it to maintain traction). One thing I've noticed since the weather has cooled, the thing has been pulling like a monster. I'd be interested in seeing what the G-tech reads when it's 60 degrees outside.

I don't know how much now with the colder weather, but 345rwhp & 300rwtq with 110 degree temperatures . Damn Arizona, lol. With it in the 60's at night, I think closer to 370 is what i'm at with more fuel and timing. Plus, I dynoed on an xact (is more accurate) which usually reads 5-6% lower then a dynojet (more people use this type).

All great responses. So how much about would each route get me (FI vs SC)?

If I wanted to go even a safer route, would bolt on mod be worth the money (ie exaust / header etc?) How much of a speed increase would the bolt on route give me and how much would that cost?

By the time you buy all the bolt-ons (into cams, full exhaust, intake, plenum/spacer, pulleys, EMU and tune + labor)...you could have bought a Vortech for very little more!!!

So - price per HP - ~60HP on bolt-ons and ~125 and up for the Vortech.

All safe - relatively speaking that is.

Hell...I'm selling my Vortech in the marketplace...

There are a couple out there - literally a couple. They have been custom motor and high boost builds though, not the standard kits with lower boost. It's also still up for contention if those 'breaks' occurred from the SC or the engine build itself.

Now - if you look at turbo cars - exponentially different. A proper entry level turbo setup costs almost 60%+ more. Getting past standard setups pretty much requires an engine build, and more extras.

With a Vortech - you can go from the standard ~325 WHP factory Vortech build to ~400 WHP for not a bunch more money and still be very reliable. Break that 400 WHP mark, and you SHOULD build a bit.
