Is the supercharger worth it?
Well today I went to Autodreams and Japtrix located in Palm Beach FL. Auto dreams qouted me 10k for a sc, aftercooler and nitrous bar that shoots in the aftercooler. This was the price tuned and installed. I figured I wouldnt ask them about a turbo.
I then went to JapTrix and asked them how much for a sc. He said " why do you want a supercharger?" I basically told him I wanted to stay under 400whp and the 3 yr warranty vortech and stillen offer is appealing. He than qouted me 9,600 for an APS TT with installation and tune. So I think im gonna run with JapTrix on this one. What do you guys think?

The only thing I can tell you is that going FI is like the butterfly effect. Change one thing -> change everything.
When I started researching it, I initially planned on just getting a Vortech tuner kit (already had a UTEC). Then I read some reviews, a few people weren't happy with the stock pulley that came with the kit, so I decided to get the smaller 3.12" pulley. Then I read that with higher boost (particularly with the 2.87" pulley), you should start upgrading the fuel system. So I decided to jump the gun and got a Walbro fuel pump and 440cc injectors. Then I read that aftermarket plugs were a good idea, so I got NGK iridiums (one step colder). Then I found out that the installer would have to "tap" (i.e. drill) into the oil pan and plenum for the SC oil lines and UTEC MAP sensor (respectively) - didn't like the sound of that, so I got the AAM oil pan spacer (with pre-existing taps for oil lines) and AAM throttle body spacer (w/vacuum taps). Settled on that setup, got it installed, and about two months later I started to notice my transmission was acting up. With the help of some other members, we identified a strange problem with the transmission control module software on newer 5ATs that causes the torque converter to lockup. I figured out a work around and had a transmission cooler installed, which reduced the problem by about 90%. Then my Vortech went bye bye and now I'm driving around in a lovely piece of doo doo courtesy of Enterprise.
With a turbo you'll also have to consider things like a boost controller and turbo timer. I personally didn't like the idea of my car running for 30 seconds when I turned it "off", but a lot of people don't mind. Whatever you do, just think of it as an engineering project, and keep in mind that anything you change, even something seemingly insignificant, may have effects on other systems.

would it be wise to install a stillen supercharger on a lease? Will it be a hassle to remove when its time to turn the car in or will it leave any type of trace that something was tampered with when i take it back. This might be a dumb question but i rather not make a dumb mistake that will cost me.
thanks.
thanks.
