This is exactly how mine drives also . When I take off easy in D mode or manual mode with very little gas , the 1st to 2nd shift is very hard [ meaning it clunks or bangs the rear end gears] . It was even worse with the 3.5 rear gears . I have gone back to the 3.2 gears since .

Hey booger, yours sound alittle different then what Urban described bc yours still clunks/ bangs when u take off ez or with little throttle (say under 3K rpm). His description sounds more what I was trying to explain about it jerking (aka hard shifts).

Let me clarify as there are words like "jerk", "bang" and "clunk" being used, I think we are all probably refering to the same thing as it is a hard sound to describe. Don't want to confuse the thread more but mine is a thud when it changes and the jerk is really the car accelerating once it's done, I do not get a metallic sound of metal to metal like clunk or bang when changing gears and mine is fine at low rpms which is anything below 3k. The car in D actually shifts early like 2500rpms and you can feel it like you do in stock form.

Hope that made sense.

^^^^^^

good explination . Yes mine thuds , bangs , or clunks what ever you wanna call it . But mine is most noticable from 1st to 2nd with very light throttle . If I give it enough gas so it shift a little later , [ above 3000rpm ] its fine and just shifts hard and fast .

Check out the Blitz I-Color MMD or SBC. I have the I-Color SBC and some add on sensors. I will be able to monitor boost pressure, AFR, oil temp, oil pressure, fuel pressure, water temp all on the one multi display of the I-Color SBC. Its pretty small and can be mounted easily or hidden away and taken out when you need to monitor things closely.

I have the Blitz SBC in the car now but because I have the FCon Vpro I have decided to go with the HKS F-Con Navigator.

Just the plain SBC for checking my boost, one reason why I need the Navigator now.

Ohhh man, I have some reserch to do on AT's. This thread just confuses me. Correct me if I am wrong, but the thud/clunk noise on our AT trannys is "normal" and shouldnt be cause for concern????
