just wanted to thank everyone for their help. i think ive decided on the stillen...now the question comes down to stage 2 or 3. i might be able to get a stage 2 for 2800 from a member on here...

It's actually when the blower is compressing the air (ie. .5psi+) you should be able to see a power increase over the stock power curve.
Now, if I went with the 2.87 pulley this would be different. I would probably be seeing boost a lot sooner in the rev range and the power curve would be shifted upwards. Probably as soon as 2k rpm.

well there's actually less parasitic loss at low rpms where it doesn't take as much work to spin the blower less than at high rpms where it takes more work to spin the blower faster especially as the psi or backpressure increases which make it harder for the extra air to leave the blower and go through the engine
The blower is spinning and sucking in more air. Even with the 3.33 pulley, at 2500 the blower is spinning at 17464 rpms. With the 3.12 pulley, it's 18640, and the 2.87 pulley spins the blower at 20263 rpms at 2500 rpms
that's plenty of rpms to generate power and according to compressor graph for the SC trim with 3.5 liters, it's right there near it's peak efficiency. It just so happens that you can spin it even more up to redline to make even more power
at extreme low rpms, you're right it kinda does act like a really good short ram intake. It can be felt every time you take off from a stop. Being NA, you won't feel that extra power, but the car will probably rev up a little faster
Either way there's a ton of dyno graphs that all show the vortech making 20-40 more tq at 2500 rpms than NA depending on their pulley and engine/exhaust

i know you have made up your mind, but why not add a suggestion.....ATI PROCHARGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But whatever you choose, i guarantee you'll have fun with it, so good luck! Also i was soooooooo close to going stillen, until i researched and learned about no breathing mods, a new weird hood, and the low hp it puts
Cool sound and decent torque tho.
Note: I payed $300 re-stocking fee after ordering my Vortech and canceling it because of the bad batch situation that has been going on, yes i know vortech has made a letter admitting it, but problems are still occuring
I suggest wait till mid 08 for a vortech.
