New STILLEN Stg2 Owner - What else can I do?
i'm so glad i picked up a gt-r, so i don't have to worry about this anymore...
but i'm keeping my g, and i'm curious about the hks as well.
whiteonwheat - you sound a lot like me for the last three years... result - i've never pulled the trigger.
when i finally get the gt-r (hopefully in july), i'll be able to finally go f/i. i was also contemplating stillen stage 2/4. so much so, that i actually put the stock cats and headers back on, in preparation for the purchase.
i'm also curious about the hks setup. please share any info you learn about it.

I'm thinking I'll nab a Stillen Intake, a Z-Tube and run the Coupe with these parts along with the STG2 kit over to Forged and call it a day. It's GOT to be quicker than stock - hopefully even quicker than stock + NA mods (Headers, Cats, etc etc). Even not, oh well, I already sunk the $, mind as well use it for something other than collecting dust in my basement.
Oh, can anyone quickly RE-educate me on why STG3 is "worthless". I talked to Stillen on the phone (won't name any contacts, b/c I don't want to throw anyone under the bus) the other day (Friday of last week I believe) and asked again (to refresh my memory) on weither the STG3 is not worth it or not. The guy told me that it runs about $100 and it's a different pulley and will get me 25 or so more horses. So is this totally FALSE, or does it just make the car run lean?
If I get the pulley, I can have Sharif over @ Forged "tune" it. I'm not sure I want to sink another $990.00 (what Stillen quoted me) for upgrading to STG4. You know, with an additional injector, GAS is going to get eaten alive (probably will be with STG2 as well); and around here GAS is getting near $4.00 a gallon - holy M*F*!!!!!!!!
So what do you guys think?
I say slap the STG2 in, enjoy some added low end TQ and call it "Shut the F* up already guy and get it installed"? Any .02's?
LOL!
Thanks for putting up with ALL my questions Guys!

Stillen Stage 3 in my opinion is still worth it if you're choosing it over stg.1 or 2, I really see no point in 1 or 2, I say just go stg.4 and get it over with. Because I know for a fact seeing others doing it, alot of people who get stg.2, end up going stg.3 then 4, or just hop straight to 4, i never heard of anyone just staying at stg.2 for long, i dont even know why they have stage 1,2,3,4! I can see the stg.2 for being carb-exempt, but I would of just made a stg.4 and call it a stillen SC haha. I'm not a fan of stillen, again because of the amount of hard working $$ you put in, you're numbers dont come out the way it should be, yes its already expected, you do know the info before you buy it, but unless you really really want stillen, it's not worth your hard working money for 300-340whp. I don't think you can tune the Stillen either, it's ss box is locked, plus its not really a good idea haha. I would really look into a Vortech or a HKS, especially if it seems like you're going to go with Forged, then go HKS if they offer it there
I'll see what the HKS kit and install will run me. But again, what's the deal with HKS - just 'high quality' stuff, or does the SC kit give you much more power? How much? (HP/TQ)?
Thanks Guys!

all this fighting about HKS kit, my procharger made 373 whp. with the stock pulley, i know if i change that stock pully i make way more than 400whp. HKS is just a hype, the only good thing is that C.A.R.B legally stuff, but i dont have to worry about that because i am in ny.

Oh really? HKS is just a hype, So I am assuming you have installed ALL of these kits, tuned all of them, and can directly compare an determine that the kit is just a hype?
Give me a break...
O.P. The HKS is more expensive, but it is more complete, higher quality, quieter, and will make more power that the Stillen.
We made 400rwhp on a AUTOMATIC car.
Most of the people that will tell you "XYZ" kit is the best, is because that is what they are running. Me, I am running a twin turbo, but I know thats not what you want to discuss so I am not pushing it.
If I HAD to go the supercharger route, it would be HKS hands down. In order I would rate the kits like this.
1. HKS
2. Vortech.
3. ATi Procharger
4. Stillen
5. Dreamworks

Hope this helps your ultimate decision,

^ Awesome reference - thanks!
I remember seeing the G roll into HIN and than later walking by and seeing the Stillen so the hood did close. I'm not saying Stillen Stillen Stillen, just sharing info on hood clearance. I think this is rick from riverside infinitis friend or team mate.
