more control..
How a piggy back like Greddy E-U works is..
Your ECU, sensors, everything it controls works together in a cycle..
1. Your sensorS (alot more then one) sends its values to your ECU..
2. ECU then gives out signals to your injectors, throttle, cam adjuster soilenoids, etc..
3. Everything goes into work
4. sensors now reads corrected values and resends to ecu
with a piggy back
1. Your sensorS (alot more then one) sends its values to your ECU..
2. ECU then gives out signals to your injectors, throttle, cam adjuster soilenoids, etc..
3. Piggy back STOPS signal and resends its own signal
4. Everything goes into work
5. sensors now reads corrected values and resends to ecu
6. ECU sees values are different then ideal and tries to update again
so in a way you can say the ecu is fighting the piggy back.. theres also a delay in between signal sent and updated so its never going to be as fast as a standalone or OEM
standalones like haltech (sp?), F-Con
Contains their own maps and uses their own sensors (most standalones will offer additional sensors such as ehh an additional knock sensor and harnesses).. these ecus will act accordingly with its set fuel maps and tune giving you the most control overall.. but the downside is the pricey $$$ bill it comes with.
Reflashes like Osaris and Technosquare reflash will overwrite what the ECU knows with what you want to do.. now the ECU still thinks its doing the right thing, the same thing it was doing before.. simply with different values now. Re-flashes are more of a bang for the buck because you dont have to fork up the big $$ for a standalone but you get the same benefits as one =) now if we've hacked the software enough where we can use it on FI applications is still duno for me =P I havnt researched anything into our ECUs yet.. I generally just ask what my tuners prefer.. reason why is because I want him to use whats most comfortable with him.

He's getting the JWT.
We were pretty evenly matched on the fwy... NA vs NA...
I wonder how the TT vs SC is going to turn out...
The saga continues
300fly vs 240 fly going to turn into 400whp vs 360whp.
Ima have to get you a large GT style spoiler to even up the drag...

Mike if you're interested the car puts down 260-254whp on a dyno jet in 5th gear pull (260 on the 1st run and 254 by the 3rd) runs include 1 burn run. After the 20s it lost roughly 25-20whp =(
I ran the friend with the CR, and we ran dead even.. =P so I want to guess u and I would be around the same.. lol cant wait for the next run.. damn u and ur weight advantage =(
Build still NOT final but this is where we're at for now
JWT TT Kit, unsure of which kit =P
JWT Clutch Fly Wheel
+Bigger Radiator & Oil Cooler
Single Front Mount Coversion
SS Box, unsure of which managment
Aiming for high 300s on the 20s with stock block. Aiming for mid 500s if rebuild with 20s on 530BB kit.. but we still have a few things up in the air as parts continue to come in, I should have the final build posted on monday-tuesday.
For those interested I'm about $14,000 into this set up.. If I go with a built motor I'm throwing myself into $20,000 range.. O.O

we were pretty damn close on the fwy..
I'd imagine either he or I would pull on you slightly if we took the aero off...
damn the ricer wing
The torque defecit is only going to get worse as you're TT and I'm SC...
I'll take you to the twisties
Has your friend dynoed?
I do 186 on a mustang dyno...

Ditch the SS box, go with the Haltech.
Other than that, you might want to consider a better exhaust and HFC's (if you haven't already)
If you plan on tracking it, power steering cooler, as well
Looks like a good plan!

Quick Question
Is the 8 grand worth it, for the amount of power u gain??
i could take that same amount and put it in a r33 skyline and be able to run low 12's no problem
i get pwned racing my friends with STI's and Skyline's
and all those "Ghetto" turbo cars
will i be able to say HOLY CRAP IM FAST??
i just hear that even after i go f/i
its not as fast as u would immagine dropping out that much money
