Much props to Scott at Relentless Autosports
Much props to Scott at Relentless Autosports
Hi all, I'd just like to make this post in regards to Relentless Autosports.
I purchased a vortech kit back in Apr 08 prior to me deploying to Iraq. I called Scott up and inquired about if I could drop my car off and have him install a Vortech kit. After speaking on the phone and emailing him, he offered to come pick the car up. So there he was, the night before my departure and he had a friend drive him to Yuma, Az from Diego to pick up my car to work on it.
My wife wasn't too fond of me handing the keys over to someone I barely I had only talked to on the phone briefly, but I had a good feeling about this.
The next morning, Scott calls me and asked me, "Do you know your car is detonating? I could hear it pinging and whatnot halfway back to San Diego."
This is when I think to myself, "uh oh, here's where the mechanic finds a gazillion things wrong and the repair bill multiplies by 10". But I was wrong as you will read later.
About a week later, Scott emails me and says he's found the problem and fixed it, and in the process, found me 20 more hp even before the Vortech is in.
Throughout the process, Scott kept me well informed and was truthful 100% which I appreciated.
Fast forward to a few weeks later and he emails me and says my baby is finally complete. Dyno shows 330rwhp on a conservative tune which is exactly what I was looking for.
This is where I start sweating bullets because it's time for the invoice to be sent, and I'm thinking I may have to remortgage the house, or sell a child to pay off this what I thought, was going to be a huge repair/install/man hour bill.
I open up the attachment, and my face goes
, "That's all?, You positive on that Scott?" Hurry up, where do I send the money before you change your mind?
j/k
So I pay it off, and we schedule a time for him to drop it off, and he is completely flexible on my wife's work hours. She accepts the car, and he explains what he's done to it in detail, and of course, being my wife, all she says is "Ooh look, shiny engine!" not realizing there's this manly Vortech that wasn't there before.
So, long story short, Relentless has found a new long time customer, and I won't hesitate to drive over the mountain from Yuma to get any work done. Matter of fact, when I get home from Iraq, I have a chargespeed rear, karuma front and tein coilovers that I will be most definitely taking to get dropped off.
So here I sit, 3 months to go in my deployment, yearning to drive my new Supercharged car, and can only dream about it.

330 rwhp seems rather. I thought most vortech kits on the revup were putting out closer to 400rwhp.
are you using the stock vortech supplied tuning EMS (SS box or has Vortech switched to the Unichip) or did you go with a UTEC? The UTEc guys and the guys with SS boxes have both been able to retune and get close to 400 whp......maybe you have the Unichip and it is on the stock vortech tune....

Glad to see he took care of you as he did me. He's a good guy and they do fantastic work, but I have a feeling this thread will not go so well. I will be going back to him sometime soon for more goodies.
Quadcam - I'm not sure what pulley it is, but I think the 7psi pulley is the one that will put out about 330whp. iStan here in Vegas is putting out 314whp with that pulley (he also looses about 2psi in his huge intercooler).

and 99% of those people have based their feelings and opinions off of hearsay. They have never spoken with or met Scott in person, whether it be face to face, over the phone, or over PM's. All they have done is read what other people say and it just turned into a giant snowball effect. Quite dissapointing and sad if you ask me.

Quadcam-330-340whp is about right for a full kit right out of the box. So this is just about right. The guys close to 400whp, like me, have an upgraded pulley and a few more goodies. Watch the vid posted in Jeremy's thread and you will see that 06 G dynoed at 340whp right out of the box.
To the OP, congrats and come back safe.

OP, I saw you car when Scott was working on it. He performed your vortech install the same time he did mine and Boostfed's vortech install. He also dynoed all of our cars on the same day. I'm glad to hear that you like your car and that you got back to the states safely!! Your G is definitely beautiful.
Can't wait to let Scott play more with my car and get more out of it.

I am the highest whp auto G with just the standard vortech kit that Scott has done and I only made 314 whp (but this is only at 5000 rpm - I am running stock fuel pump and injectors and my car doesn't get enough fuel after 5000. I need to give my car back to Scott and let him add at bare minimum a higher flowing fuel pump).
