I run 8psi DD... Marjory run 7+psi as far as I know. Fuel economy depend how heavy your foot is but I tend run 11-14mpg when boosting..

holy ouch 11-14? thats worse than the the 01 chevy 1500 w/ 350 on 35" mud tires I used to drive, and I was not easy on it ...

Is that typical mileage of these cars running 7-8psi ? I am pretty hard on my vehicles so im sure i'd be getting in the lower range lol

imagine a supercharger which is a constant parasitic load. Turbos are much more forgiving when not on boost.

I never get how people get 24+mpg even on stock car, my best was 20mpg on a 100% freeway (4hours drive to Boston). My typical mpg on a 50/50 highway/local driving is about 16-18mpg even when I was NA. Dont know if it is my driving style so of course now that I have turbo it should suck more...

lol true, same here, when I had my 3000gt I read about people getting 27/28mpg and just couldnt see how that was feasible when no matter how much i tried to drive it nice and slow and such I still only managed to get 18/19ish... I guess that old saying you hafta pay to play is true in no matter what sense...

Exactly, I don't know how people get such high MPG. The NAV is def not accurate, people need to just fill up the tank all the way and drive till it's below empty. Then divide the mileage by 20 (gallons of tank). I get about 10 on street and 18 on highway.

By the way, I bought an STS kit and never got to install it. Selling in the marketplace, engine section.

Yeah, unfortunately I know. I was reading every post about this product yesterday(cuz still am running stock exhaust) and I was getting to the point of being very interested in slappin' one onto my G, but of course that question: is it C.A.R.B. for our cars?? Still, I will keep this in mind, if/whenever I decide move out of Cali. Personally, it's getting bad here. I do got to give credit to those who have an STS on their G's. I visited and read their website and I have seen vids on youtube as well and I think I will still be interested to slap one on my G in the future.

Sc.......Mmmm thought about it for a longtime, but realize it's just isn't for me. Besides the tuning part(only at a minimum), Im that "set it and forget it" kind of guy.

Keep this topic alive, fellas.

So does this come with complete instuctions? How long was installation? If your car is a stock 04 AT, do you need ANYTHING else to have this ready to drive? thanks

It does come with instruction but it is not the easiest to follow. You can PM 6spG because he did his own install in his garage so he can give you some tips. The kit is the same for 6MT and 5AT and two of the testers have an automatic coupe and a 350z Auto. You can drive the car as is but I strongly suggest to have it tuned.

You can ask more question and feedback on this thread.. http://my350z.com/forum/forced-induc...on-thread.html

FI'ed G and to everyone else running this setup...I'm going back and forth between the STS setup and Vortech as reliability is paramount.

The absolute last thing I want, is to regret going FI because of a blown engine and tons of $$$ down the drain, however I realize that anything is to be expected with FI.

I'm curious if all of you are running on a stock block/engine and also, your installation and/or tuning costs?

FI'ed G, how long have you had your kit on? Is your G your daily driver and if so, how's it doing in NY? I'm in Utah, so we have similar climates, specifically with the snow.

Thanks guys!

If you are deciding between Vortech and STS then I would go with STS. Check the link that I provided and there are already 2 former Vortech owner (JonnyC and Boozt) who switched to STS and both are very happy with their decision. Boozt regularly track his car and he switched to STS because Vortech gave him some overheating problem on a certain track. Majority of the STS kit out there are on stock block and I have yet to see someone blow their motor with the stock kit, I have also yet to hear any major part on the kit failing once it is installed and tuned right, it has been almost 2 years now since the kit was released so that gives you an idea how reliable the kit is. I'm not saying it never had any problem but so far I have yet to hear anyone complain and there are over 15 STS owner on that thread alone and non had any major problem.

I'm one of the first owner (first G35 Revup Coupe) so I had my kit for almost 2 years now. I never had any major problem, I have never yet to replace any part and the only thing I have done was clean my air filter once and replace my spark plugs once, of course you can add the regular oil change every 2500-3000 miles on that list.

My car is not my DD because I work in the City so I take public transportation and only drive my car on the weekends, I do drive my car hard though on the weekend because that is the only time I get to enjoy my car. Now if you ask me if I will use my car for DD if I had a chance, then my answer is yes. I strongly advice though to have a second car just incase of down time because anything can happen. There are other STS owner who DD their car so I'm not going to worry, just know the fact that with FI anything can happen so be prepared for the worst. If you cant afford any down time then you shouldn't go FI!!!!

I dont know the price now for the kit but I WILL NOT PAY over $6000 for this kit!!! Never!!!! I know they tried to raise the price but at that price then I might as well go TT. If you can get the price around $5500-$5800 then that is a good price, you can add maybe $1200-$1600 for install and a FULL Custom tune with that, so for everything $7000-$7500 is a good price. STS dont need any expensive exhaust so that $7K is everything you'll need and that is with a very good EMS already.
