Got the VB back today, everything looks good. Brand new solenoids, some wiring they changed. Car should be good to go by Friday. Will post when I get more updates.

Gimme some time! lol. I just got home!
My car is back up and running.
The trans shifts beautifully. I'm not a huge fan of the new torque converter, which I upgraded. It is smaller and has a higher stall. I asked them to upgrade it to 2800, but I think it is more around 3000-3100. They had a problem at their shop and they ended up giving me a brand new one. Anyway, with the fixed VB and the built trans in, it is now fun to drive my car again! No BOOM shifts and no head bashing. They're hard when I want them to be hard, and easy when I'm driving normal.
Though we did have a boost problem, apparently I overboosted to 11 at first, we adjusted my manual boost controller then saw 9, adjusted again and saw 14, and somehow we hit 20? I'm on the stock block too, but I don't see how overboosting that much is possible with my setup and keeping A/Fs in optimal range. I have JWT twins and their upgraded fuel pump and stock injectors. A/F was good, low 11s but I overboosted? I just don't get it..
Anyway we bypassed my manual boost controller and are using the wastegate springs and all is good now.
FYI if anyone is interested, my mechanic will build your trans for $1400 in labor, as long as you buy the parts.

^Actually, that would be installed price no?
I'll talk to the mech and find out the cost to just build the transmission itself.
I'm a fan of the car again. The overboost really surprised us as we were not expecting it at all. Luckily, bypassing the boost controller fixed the problem right away. Canadian is now boosting right around 7psi which he always should have been.
It's been a while since I've been in Canadian's car, but I remember dreading 1st-2nd gear shift. With the fixed vb, everything finally runs the way we were always expecting it to.
My transmission will be built by the same guy, but much later. My Vortech has treated my transmission relatively well. 'If it aint broke, don't fix it' is my mentality, unfortunately, something always seems to be broken and need fixing.
Canadian's car is rockin now. I'm really glad to see it running. Probably most excited because now the car is off our mech's plate and I can get my other car fixed finally. Haha

I went ahead and bought one as well. It arrived today. Looks to be quality work, what don't you like about it? The stall being higher than expected? I did not send them my original I just paid an extra $100 for a core.
Congrats Canadian. That's a good deal, all told so long as it holds up. Anyone upgrading the TC should monitor temperature... I also didn't like the high stall TC I got as "default" with the GTM stage 3 pkg. It was fast, but generated a lot of heat and was "squishy" feeling, until you were above 3500 rpms. I am actually "downgrading" to a high efficiency unit at the moment (car is at FP).

You are really scaring me about the TQ converter comment.

I'm not going through taking the trans out again, so if I ever did that it wouldn't be for a long time.
Hi stall can feel like turd until you get up to engagement. It generates muy heat, a beefy external cooler is definately needed. If you start heating it tooo hot trans will go into limp mode and not want to go into higher gears or take manumatic up shifts.
If you pull the trans again, just throw in a manual. lol

ya congrats in finding a new option for the AT.
Hey Rcdash, what stall did u set... 3500? what do u mean by squishy feeling and I talked with edge racing about their tq converter and they say if it's done right it should not create more heat and should also improve gas milleage. I'm sure he was bsing me bc I believe u have the same tq converter.
