I went through a set of DRs already and have gone 3 times now on street tires. Last time, I managed a 2.0 60' on bald 245/45/18 Michelin Pilot Sports and ran a 12.5 @ 114mph. I was just as happy running my 12.5 on street tires as I was when I ran my 12.2 on drag radials. I'll most likely be going Wednesday night, too.

I did pretty well my first outting on streets. Ryan was there. Was posting 12.6 with 2.022 60'. I had NO traction issues. But when I got up to 400whp I grabbed some slicks and slammed it down to 1.7 06' and 12.0
I think the car a lot more in it, but between the track.. needing a grounding kit (BAD) and not really experienced with driving on slicks.. that was the best I could do uncorrected.

After your first hour of runtime (be very easy on the motor of course), you may want to change the oil and filter. Also, open up the filter to make sure nothing that shouldn't be in there shows up. This was recommended to me by Larry at So. Fla. Machine and Crank, who is building my shortblock.

Mostly to go fast. Lets face it, our cars are not set up very well for the 1/4 mile. I see that people do turn in some pretty quick times but I have seen other platforms with less HP turn in quicker times. I like the flexible platform of the G or Z. It will turn in a very decent quarter mile but it really shines when blasting through some mountain roads or running through the gears from a roll. If I wanted a Turbo drag racer I would have bought a Buick GN and run in the 9's for way less money than 11 seconds in a G35.
