Stillen vs. Vortech vs, ATI

Re: Stillen vs. Vortech vs, ATI
Stillen: Great low end power.... ugly hood $5300
ATI: Nice kit $5400, crappy fuel and timing solution. Many blown motors with this kit. Most were not tuned...
Vortech: $4300 (satin) Excellent fuel and timing solution( split second box)... the drawback on the Vortech kit is having to drill the upper oil pan (really not a big deal).
All these kits will cost $1000-1500 to install. Maintenance wise each the Vortech is a pain to change the air filter. The Ati must have its oil changed (self oiling). I dont know about the Stillen, Id say the air filter would be about it.
The Ati and Vortech are going to be close performance wise, anout 350-380 RWHP out of the box. The Stillen will be about 350 out of the box, its power will come on at lower RPM's and fade. The Vortech and ATI's power comes on after 3000rpm. unless you change pulleys.
You also will need gauges, expect to spend $400-800 on them. A wideband Air/Fuel meter is ESSENTIAL, it will cost at least $400. Tuning is very important as well, expect to spend $200 to $500.

Re: Stillen vs. Vortech vs, ATI
Hey gurgen, once Stillen's stage 4 is available, how tunable do you think this setup is? I realise that little is still know about the stage 4 setup but, overall what do you think of their Eaton setup?

I really wouldn't know how tunable this setup would be, as perhaps no one does outside of stillen. Frankly, this is the first I hear about Stillen coming out with what they call Stage iV. I'm sure they are not upgrading the internals, so I would think they are essentially using a different pulley to go to 9psi (this is a total guess). If history is any guide, I do NOT think that the setup will be tunable at all (just like its stage I-III cousins). I would guess that part of the reason that these are not very tunable is due to the Stillen's use of a 7th injector to keep the A/F in check, and this is not a mainstream approach; of course they don't want people tweaking their setup, as they do (at least for stages 1-2) for warranty reasons.

Re: Stillen vs. Vortech vs, ATI
Gurgen, you're right about the warranty being messed with.
The kit is completely tunable, even with just the black box.The problem is finding the company who tuned it to begin with.It is a local company & just takes some research(Stillen will never reveal the company).
Besides the box Stillen offers, you can toss the box and get any form of engine management.I've personally seen the APEXi kit tuned for an extra 15hp,and I know there are plenty options available(Technosquare,I bet e-manage will work)
Blk G35c AT Stillen SC 7lb pulley Stillen valve body Volk LE37's Tein susp. KAAZ Lsd
"throw it in the gutter and go buy another"
