5AT turbo help!!

i have an 05 g35 coupe auto turboed. im planning to run lower then 350whp and everyone at the shop is telling me that the tranny will not hold that power. i just got the tranny rebuild with new torque converters too. im planning to run something in the low to mid 300whp. i know that the auto tranny is weaker and doesnt handle as much power but is it really that weak that it cant handle just a bit over 300whp????? im planning to get and auto tranny cooler and a valve body as well. i just need some opinions before i go ahead and spend more money on the tranny. i know i can get a manual swap but im not going to pretend and say i know how to drive stick. all manual cars iv driven all had under 150hp and i havent driven any of them for a long enough period of time to say im ready to drive a turboed G35 with 400hp. most of my friends have manual cars and they do make fun lots lol. so idk is my auto tranny really that weak even tho i just rebuilt it? and is a manual swap 100% necessary? or can that auto take some abuse if i run low boost so low 300whp? plz help!

No problems here at 470 WHp with trans cooler and shift kit. No matter the power level though, it depends largely on how hard you beat on the car.

Transgo valve body upgrade and a trans cooler would be all that you should need.

plenty of auto guys are turbo'ed by vinnytenracing.com and have plenty of track hours/daily driving for years without issues.

You just said you had the tranny rebuilt. Did you build it with the high performance Alto clutch packs or did you just do a OEM rebuild?

OEM rebuilt. it was an old tranny even tho it was mostly hwy and i put most of it on non turbo. i maybe put about 5k on it with the turbo. then on the dyno my tuner couldnt bring the boost down from 20psi 500whp+ so we took the boost controller off because it wasnt working and just tuned it with the haltech and timing. not to sure how he tuned it precisely but he said the car makes about 6-8psi now. but on the few runs he tried to bring down the boost it probably hurt the tranny.

That's too bad - you could've gotten the high performance rebuild kit for literally the same price. The expensive part is the labor. With a VB and cooler you should be fine for a good long time though. Get a really big cooler, 11 x 11 x 1.5" or thereabouts.
