tt g35...wtf?

so I finally took the g to the 1/4 mile and my fastest time was a 13.8 ....now I'm no rocket scientist but shouldn't I easily be hitting 12.7s or better? I know driver error comes in to play but I'd like to think it doesnt account for an entire second seeing how it wasn't my first time at the track. Is it really possible to have 7.5 psi on an aps tt kit and not get into the 12s?

What's your power/torque?

Were you on DRs?

What was your trap speed?

It depends on more factors then just the power you put down. Depends on the track, if you where getting traction, weather, altitude, etc.

Where are you racing at?

7.5PSI on a TT and running near 14's is ridiculous. There has to be something up. Either your traction was really whack (in which case your trap speed should also suffer) or something was not built right.

There are stock G35's that pretty much run that time.

I'm interested in the trap speed, that where the potential of the car lies (assuming you're able to get traction).

I'm supposedly at dyno sheet says 360 and 344 tq...i was assuming that was to the wheels...but after this disgrace I'm thinking thats flywheel hp

ok i got a terrible 60' on this run but it goes as follows

r/t... .148
60'... 2.274
330 ... 6.033
1/8... 9.085
1/8 mph... 82.59
1000... 11.689
1/4 ... 13.841
1/4 mph... 106

i also had a run where i ran a 14 but got 108 trap speed

I ran at MIR weather was great...around 60 degrees and cloudy

Where did you have it dyno'd. Do you know if it was a chassis dyno? Or a DynaPack attached to the hub itself?

The trap speed looks pretty awful.

Trapping 108 on a 14.0ET is good news though. If your launches were a bit off, that could make all the difference.

I'm not sure what G35's are supposed to trap with that power, but it seems a bit low.

edit: did you build the car, or did you purchase it built for you?

even if that was true, which I don't think it is because i had compression tests run before i bought it and everything was aye okay, that would just cause it to blow up not run slowly. It was a weekend car, only 40k in 6 years so I believe that part of it, plus it was a friends car and he sais its always been like that since he put the kit on..leaves me to believe he didn't pay enough for the tune.

Just wondering really if there could be anything else before I go buy a utec or osiris and shell out for a tune on top of that

Is the car holding boost?

Compression and boost/pressure tests are two different things.

Ask your friend where he had it built/tuned. I really doubt they actually measured power @ the flywheel.

And you might want to go to a different tuner.

it was tuned at aam and yeah it holds boost, i had defi guages recording during the runs and i never once lost boost and most FI G's run somewhere around 12.6 and trap around 113 to 120

Are those G35's running on DR tires?

This guy is over 500RWHP on street tires running high 12's trapping 116.

G35's aren't all that great when it comes to running fast quarter mile times. That's why I bought myself an Evo lol.

Your best bet at improving the time is working on the launch and maybe some DRs.

Don't feel bad I got the APS TT and on 8.5 psi I was barely able to get into the 12's
I was on street tires and spun the tires for a good .5 seconds out of the box

Here is the video:

I'm not a 1/4 mile guy and my suspension is set up for Road Course not 1/4 mile

Check your manifolds and make sure they are tight and no missing nuts
When I pulled my motor I was missing 2 nuts that hold the manifold
and had a exhaust leak through there that could affect your boost
