Loud whine while driving but not idle
Under boost my s/c seems to make this really loud whine noise, my buddy has the same vortech s/c and his doesnt make the noise. At idle the car is fine only when I start driving I hear it.
Any ideas? Dont think its the belt or it would be at idle also.
I tried to search for the answer but found none, Thanks.

How does it sound normal but then you just said yours is silent? Did you hear the noise mine was making in the video? Would you say I have an issue or whats up?

I can't see the gauge numbers very well, but it looks like you barely passed 0 psi when you hit revved it. Mine goes silent when I'm driving and step on the gas into positive boost. At vacuum, my car sounds the same as yours, slightly quieter perhaps. Did your tuner raise the idle a bit to decrease the grinding noise?
I don't hear anything wrong with your car.

Once im in boost I dont hear the loud whine noise but I seem to think from all the videos I have seen the sound seems normal. I do hear it however while driving, just while im not in boost though. Does it whine when your driving to or stop? Im going to get it tuned anyway because Im running a bit rich also.
Thanks man

1. Drive the car ... Is it giving you hesitation on acceleration?
2.warm the car up let idle , rev it a couple times , does it have a hard time coming back to idle?
3. Does the car have any other weird noises in the engine bay?
4. Does the "problem" noise get worse over driving long distsnces or being on a long time?
If all answers are no, then you have really nothin to worry about... And you just need to make sure you keep an eye on all the supercharger components to see if it gets worse or better...just regular maintenance for supercharged vehicles... Check belts, piping, wires every time you check your oil...check the tension on the belts to see if they are to tight or loose (doesn't seem to be the issue butstill check).... Oh and if your idle is around .5 and you still get a good clean acceleration most likely your tune is good... Mechanical noise usually has very little to do with tuning... Unless there is knock... But that's another subject.... On an ending note... Drive your car enjoy it... And don't be so sensitive on the Internet...
