anyone regret going vortech
I agree booger, the install job was fricking horrible... those backwarks-*** mechanics really screwed up my car..and didn't care.
However that doesn't change the fact that the power delivery and the noise of a blower plain out sucks, although..that is personal opinion and depends on the user.

I guess Im more inclined to put up with a little noise [ whistle ] and the smaller and more easily to over come problems that the SC has over the bigger and harder to figure out problems with a TT set . But if some one wanted to trade !!!!!.....lol

Converting to twins was the best thing I ever did...

All someone has to do is go for a ride in a supercharged Z and a TT'd Z and there will be no doubt they would want the TT. The torque is what makes the driving fun. Getting thrown back when you hit the gas is what puts a smile on your face everytime. Without the torque, it's nowhere near as much fun. I think some people who are still deciding between TT and SC are just looking at the hp numbers and see comparable numbers. You guys have to look at the torque numbers and how soon it kicks in to realize how much fun the car is to drive. Don't just go by the hp numbers.
exactly kj.. I had a s/c in my G for well over a year and thought it was the $hit... then I got the twins... wow..what a difference..what made it even more obvious is when I drove my buddies G that I sold my s/c to... i was thinking..wow, night and day.. that thing is dying to make boost...

P.S. Come ride with me in my SC G sometime and you'll change your comment.
Randy, I was not implying SC Z's aren't fun to drive. I said that the TT's give you more torque and if you drove in both cars you would say the TT threw you back in your seat more. I'm in no way saying anything bad about SC's. BTW, I read the article of your car in Sport Z. Your car looks sick! Congrats.
after reading all of this, i'm still in luv w/ the vortech. ofcourse i would like to have the xtra torque of a ST or TT, but IMO the vortech is enough. now i just need some money to buy one

First of all, the whine of the SFC unit itself will give many people a headache, literally, in a very short period of time uintil you hopefully develop a tolerance for it. Maintenance... what exactly can you tell me is the hihger maintenance of the turbos, espcially well designed ones? If anything, teh Vortech with the belt/dust issues, although minor, represent the higher maintenance. You don't even need to change your oil use interval if oy use the correct oil. Turbos are inherently simpler units then superchargers; the former has only one moving part...the shaft, with an impeller on one end, and a turbine on the other, period. Granted , the tolerances for building them are very tight, but that's why we have companies like Garrett and IHI that make superior turbos with veryy very long lives. Think of the number of moving parts in a supercharger, that has many mnay gears to, crudely put, translate the max 6500rpm of engine rotation to around 60000rpm impeller rotations.
Whoever is considering buying any FI unit, please do all the research. I don't mean to pick at profile's or anyone else's posts here, just to keep the facts straight.

I'm not saying that you are wrong, Gurgen, I'm just stating my point of view based on my own and other's experiences. i agree with you gurgen, please do research before spending all that money (and be prepared to spend way more than you project). for sure, if all variables were constant, i was born with a silver spoon in my mouth, and it was 80 degrees and sunny all year round, i'd be runnin a fully built turbocharged beast! (the mercedes benz twin turbo that is =) ).
