TC upgrades here: http://www.edgeracingconverters.com/contact.htm

For Valve body upgrades: SGP, Level 10 and Stillen. SGP is better of the three, price is around $1100 good up to 500HP. Not sure about the other 2. Level 10 may have a core exchange, to cut down time.

For complete tranny rebuilt ( VB, TC and clutchpack ) good for up to around 700+HP, price is around $3200-3400: SFR and SGP does tranny rebuild.

so I'll be dropping a good 15,000$ + ridiculous shipping...
I'll stick to saving up for the GT-R me thinks

15,000$ + my car ought to be good down payment material...

If your aiming for 550+rwhp on your built motor, your best investment next is a complete rebuilt tranny ( VB, TC and clutchpack). To handle that much HP and torque, the " cluthpack " is a MUST upgrade. Can only be done when rebuilding the whole tranny. Your tranny will shift quicker and harder, and more reliable. Might as well do it same time as your building your motor. Level10 also does tranny rebuild, but heard some bad stories with that company.

I also have an auto and if I were to get a vortech running like 380 rwhp on stock engine internals, do I also need to rebuild/upgrade my tranny? If I kept it stock would that cause any problems?

IMO .... With Vortech and around 380rwhp, I think you would be fine with stock motor and tranny, but you should consider doing the VB upgrade. Once you get around the 400-450rhwp, VB and tranny cooler should be done. Stock motor might be good for around 450whp to possibly 500rwhp , but proper tuning is the key.

no one knows what the engine is gonna be yet...
exactly.. the GT-R will be WAY more sexy..
and at least I'll get my choice of black on black (and not get stuck with beige interior on red)

Anyone ever blown an auto tranny on a boosted engine?

Someone (Infiniti service writer) told me that our tranny's are the slightly modified versions of the trannys in the Q45 so that it should handle significant power. Anyone know if that's true? I don't trust service writers.

For those with autos, can you tell us your impression of how it shifts compared to stock? How about in manumatic mode?

Thanks!

I just read through Turbonetics Inc FAQs and NONE of their turbo kits are CARB exempt so if you're CARB conscious steer away from turbonetics.
