I need nos
Re: juicedcoupe?
SEANP, you are correct, there is an ACT (I can't remember the exact name) that involves warranty work. My particular fear is that dealers will take note of mods and actually document them; I have seen this happen...let's say the engine blows one day and in reality it is because of some inherent defect; but the dealer has previously seen your nitrous installed (when you took the car in for a TSB or regular service), documented it, and now tries to deny your warranty work because they blame the nitrous for your engine blowing up. I DO NOT want this thread to become a "Dealer can't really deny warranty" topic; I just stated my personal feelings on the issue; it's a hassle I'd rather avoid.
Nitrous can be dangerous to the engine:
1) when your a/f ratio is lean...increasing fuel jetting, retarding timing, using higher octane gas are all ways to ensure a proper a/f ratio; please dyno tune
2) when you get too greedy and run a shot so high that the powertrain cannot handle the increase; this is where items such as forged pistons, chrome moly rings, etc. come into play.
It is also important to transfer heat out of the cylinders, which is the purpose of running colder spark plugs.
The G engine enjoys the 150 shot (117 whp) and the 200 shot (140 whp). The clutch appears to be the weakest link, which is not a bad thing.
A fabricated spacer, huh? I can think of three people that would be interested in getting one of those if it works out for you. Good idea.
Edretti, I'm expecting to find out dyno results today or tomorrow on the 200 shot(crank estimate) jets. My buddy is going to install the new clutch and dyno with 3 different fuel jet sizes in order to maximize the shot; we expect to bring the 140 whp up to at least 150. I'll be in touch asap depending on the hurricane damage. I'm finishing up the window switch install now...pita!
Spray ya later.
ZEX wet kit 140 WHP
ZEX remote opener, bottle heater
Denso iridium 2 steps
Z tube, Amsoil filter

That law is called the magnusson-moss warranty act. You can do a search and read the entire thing...it's long. I'm curious to hear about the dyno results. Which clutch did he go with?

Re: I need nos
I know this is asking a lot, but my buddy and i are going to put N02 in both our g35's... we know a fair amount about nitrous and the g setup too. Could you list the part numbers for the kit, and extra's that you have like the fuel splitter, rpm window switch, and iridium plugs... and how hard are they to replace?
A race shop down here in miami told me and my friend that the zex kit was crap? and that nos was the way to go. What are your thoughts??
Any other thoughts on the install, and nitrous on the G???
Oh and we are going to prob only spray 75 shot at first and mabye eventually 100 shot.
Thank you soo much

Re: I need nos
ZEX isn't a crap system...He most likely said that because the other brands are more expensive, as are their upgrade kits for such things as remote bottle openers, gauges, bottle warmers, and purge valves
Anyone planning on running nitrous, stock motor or not, needs to be dyno tuned and monitor their air/fuel ratio...This idea that it's just bolt n go is a fallacy...If you mod, you need to tune or you're just wasting money and not realizing the full potential
