When I start the car, the throttle doesnt work and service engine light appears
This has happened to me about a half a dozen times since I bought my 05 6MT coupe back in May of 2005. When I start the car I step on the gas and the throttle barely responds. I could hold the gas to the floor and it would take almost 10 seconds to redline the tach just sitting in neutral. If I turn the car off and restart, it seems to be fine. But when this happens the Check Engine light stays lit. It seems to happen when its really hot out. It happened to me yesterday and it was almost 100 here.
Has anyone else seen or heard of this problem? Any ideas?

yeah this happens once in a while... infiniti service guys say it's because of "build up in your gas tank due to excess heat or time or length sitting" it's a PITA but just drive around for a few minutes after you get the car up and running. They also suggest letting it warm up while its stuck in the throttle body lockout mode.
your welcome. yeah take it to your local dealer and tell them you want the reoccuring problem corrected. I've had to do that a few times with my coupe.. I'll take it in with a problem or problems and they'll give me the "there's nothing wrong with your car" yet they really did fix the problem(s) and just don't admit it. IDK why they do that but it works.
From what I understand, there is pretty common issue with the throttle body actuator. Remember that there is no direct cable link between your gas pedal and the throttle valve... the G uses a drive-by-wire system with a sensor on the pedal that reads how far you're pushing it down - and a motor that opens the throttle body. The code that it's throwing should point the dealership in the right direction.

hopefully it's not the sending unit but if they can run a diagnostic test at the dealer and see if all idle ratios are in working order or not
