Hey guys, i just recenly bought a 06 g35 coupe and while changing out my spark plugs i had noticed that 1 of them had some oil at the bottom of it (where you get the spark) i asked a couple of places and they all keep telling me different things like valve cover, spark plug seals,combustion chamber, did anyone of you guys have this problem?? if so please help me on how to get it fixed...
I had two out of six spark plugs like that (damp dark brown oil on threads) with no oil in the valve cover wells found after removing. I just live with it. My friend with a Z370 found the same on his plugs, go figure.
I have the long-block replacement from the very first oil consumption TSB. She burns about a quart every 5K miles which is my usual OCI so that's acceptable to me. My original 2006 Revup burned a quart/~23 hundred mi brand new.
I run a catch can and get about .5qt out of that every OCI; PCV valve is always drenched and doesn't rattle, so i clean that every time when I drain my catch can. I also religiously use a fuel additive to help prevent my oil rings from getting stuck which IMO, helps any engine in and/or prevent oil consumption with a lot of miles on the clock.

Erick please follow my direction to your other exact same post. Search the forum and you'll find a ton of threads that address both of your questions. If you post these questions again you might get hit with an infraction for not following the forum rules and I don't think you want to start off that way here.

I would recommend using 10w30 synthetic in the winter months and 10w40 in the summer months. Not sure of the part number but I have always used NGK's in all of my cars.
Saw your other posts in this thread. If the engine was starved for oil -- you did say the light came on -- then it doesn't take long to cause extensive engine damage. All the bearings, pistons, cams, etc can get damaged from lack of proper lubrication.
Never had a problem with mine so far.
Man, every car I've ever owned I make it a point to check the oil very often and get a feeling for how much oil the engine uses so it doesn't run too low on oil. No faster way to smoke an engine than with a super low oil level.
It sounds like the Service Rep knows it was ran low on oil and that's why they are refusing to cover it under warranty. Hope you get it fixed

Does it hurt to add synthetic oil to conventional oil. i'm a qt. low and only have synthetic. Also, what was the board called on the g35 coupe that controls the temp and the radio. Mine went out years ago. they recalled the sedans but not the coupes????

They sell blends so I don't see a problem. More important is the viscosity
Yes you won't hurt a thing on this engine if you mix dino and synthetic.
However this only applies to engines that were DESIGNED for conventional oil, if the engine was built around blend or synthetic then you CANNOT mix in a quart of conventional unless it's a dire F'n emergency. And if you do then you should keep rpm's below 4k and drain out the conventional/refill with blend/synthetic (whatever it was engineered for) as soon as possible.
