Damn Hexx. Have you been doing what I suggested? Check the oil about 20 times multiple times a day? Cant hurt haha. Good luck, keep us updated. Its killing me not having your car, so if they say they want/need to hold onto yours, dont let them!

haha!! I have done that. And I have driven the car extra hard the past couple of days trying to burn a little bit extra oil. In all seriousness, I don't see how they can say this is acceptable. I am right at or a little bit over that 1 quart per 1000 miles ratio. I will not be a happy customer if they say that it is acceptable and don't wanna give me a new engine. We will see though.

Just the other day, I got some loud clanking sound when I turned the car on similar to what u guys were describing. It seemed to come from the engine area as well. But I checked my oil, and it's fine, near the H mark. It hasn't done it since either. The car was left on an incline over the weekend and it made the sound on Tueday, which was the first time I turned her on since friday. Any suggestions what it could be as well? 6mt, 04.

When did you check your oil? Before or after you drove your car. If you checked it after it had been sitting all night or for a few hours, then you are probably okay and it is not the oil. But if you checked it right after you drove, it could be misleading because oil is all over the place and may not give you an accurate reading.

Drive the **** out of your car hexx. Take it to the redline and do hard down-shifts everytime. Check the oil like I said and just hope the oil level drops. When I checked my oil before I took it in, it was a little under the L mark but they told me I was about 2 quarts low, you never know! Best of luck

Checked it today again after work and I am right below the L mark also. That's actually 1 quart low but if the dealer thinks that's 2, even better! lol!!

The dealer drained my oil and measured my oil levels like that. They didnt just read the dipstick and go, "ok, time to order that new engine" If only it was that easy

Hmmmmm . . . . okay. The guy at Glendale said they are just gonna check the dipstick, not drain the oil. I wonder if I should ask them to drain the oil and measure it that way? Either way, I have lost at least a quart, if not more.

Theyre going to check the oil level via the dipstick? F that. Make them drain the oil out and check it that way. Thats the only way that they can get an accurate reading.

Dont ask, tell. You best be driving the **** out of your car. Take it for random drives. Find any way possible to eat as much oil as you can

Did anyone else get charged for an oil change when they went in to do the oil comsumption test? Also apparently it's 1500 miles now before they have you go back in for the test.

No, they can't charge you for an oil consumption test. It is a test to see if your engine is burning oil and may need to be replaced which is covered under your warranty. 1500 miles? My dealer said 1000 which is why I am going in tomorrow.

I got charged for an oil change even though they said it was an oil comsumption test.
