The dealer wanted to charge me too but I told them I needed to talk to the service manager about being charged and they covered the oil change. Dont let them charge you, its a warranty-related problem that needs to be fully covered by the warranty.

Damn, if I knew that in the beginning I would have insisted they cover it but it's already done. As long as I get the problem fixed i don't mind paying for it once. But I don't understand the whole 1500 mile thing, shouldn't it be only 1000 miles, and they said I might have to do it twice which sucks.

If you didn't already know, Nissan has basically set a 1qt/1000mile threshold as being acceptable consumption. If your using more than a quart/1000mi. then it's replacement time under warranty.
1500 doesn't make sense, unless your Dealer will replace your engine using 1qt/1500mi. idk. I'd say if you're more than 1.5qt low after 1500miles, that still qualifies for replacement under Nissan's guidelines of more than 1qt/1000mi. (same thing mathematically).
Don't let them charge you again for the second oil change as said before why.

I just got back from the dealer. At 1100 miles I am 1.5 quarts low. They will be calling Infiniti on Monday.

I believe so. They took my G to the back and about 20 minutes later the service guy says you are a quart and a half low, we topped it off for you and we will be calling Infiniti headquarters Monday morning. Your car is out front and you are set to go.

Hmmm...Interesting that some Dealers keep your car while others let you drive until it's ready to have engine replaced.

Good Luck Hex. Let us know if Infiniti discloses the actual cause of oil loss.

Extreme...hang in there bro. I'd be bummed too having to drive a stupid loaner all this time. Have fun with it while you can, if you know what I mean.
My comment to you in that other post about it being a VQ35HR, it was a joke mang. Just thought it'd be a nice upgrade for all your inconvenience.

Well, in Hexx's case, they havent spoken with the Headquarters yet so thats why he got his care back. Its the headerquarters that wont let them release the car, not the dealer.

Ha, I know it was a joke. If only it would fit and if only they'd give me the new HVQ35HR.

Today is the expected release/ship date. Ill be calling the dealer first thing tomorrow morning for an update and post what information I can.

Either way, they are not getting my car til the engine is here. extreme's case is actually the only case that I have heard of them keeping the car. I know of a couple of people getting there engines replaced and they kept their G's til the engine was in and the dealer asked them to bring the car in. One thing is for sure, my stock 19's will be going back on to my G before I drop it off.

Ya. When I call em tomorrow, if they say anything about any sort of delay, Im going to demand my car back. Im dying without the G. I put my new Gram Lights on my car on Thursday and took the car in on Monday. Only had a few days of glory. If they mess my wheels up, theyre done. ha

I told em not to wash the car, so they wont. If they curb em, I wont accept the car back until I have it in writing that they'll fix/replace the damage.

Anyways, just spoke to the dealer. My engine arrived!....But, theyre still waiting on some other parts which may not arrive until early next week. Doesnt make sense why they would ship the engine without all the parts?? Whatever. Thankfully, theyre not transferring any of the parts from the old engine to the new as prohibited by "the engineers".

Best of luck today Hexx. Let us know
