If you do get the remote start make sure you tell your insurance company you no longer have a functional transponder unit or they may screw you.

How would you no longer have a functional transponder unit?

The transponder will work exactly like it did before the remote start was installed.....

Because you have to bypass the transponder to make the remote start work.

EDIT: opps didn't read the last couple of post. So it works by powering the transponder chip in the key only when the remote start is operated???

Either way if you keep a key or half a key in the car insurance could use that as an excuse. I would check with your insurance company.
