Nitto NT555 225/245 45 18

My stock tires are almost done (after ~23k) and I need to get a new set.

What do you guys think about the above set? Any problems with the stock rims?

Thanks,

Maz

I can't say anything about the size or fitment on the stock rim but I have them on my 19's and I love them. They perform quite well for me. They compliment my suspension setup quite well.

Cool thanks. Can anyone suggest any other tires in addition to that? How about Falken FK 452, or Dunlop Direzza DZ101.

Also, does anyone have the stock 18" tires for sale?

Thanks

I just changed from 555's to FK452's and like the falkens better. The nitto is a great summer tire and cheap but the water traction sucks! I found the 452's to be just as good or better dry and way better wet.

hehehe, we don't normally get much rain here, so summer tires work for me all the time.

I'm running 19's on my G with the Nitto NT 555 and on my 03 Altima the Dunlop Direzza in 245/45/18 on all 4 corners. Since I don't drive my G in the rain I can't compare wet handling although the Direzza, IMO are good to excellent in the wet. It's kinda hard to compare because the G having 35's and the Altima 45's aspect ratios. I would say they are very similiar with the exception of the Direzza being a tad quieter but then again the Nitto have a larger tread pattern. I would have bought the Direzza for the G but they don't come in the size of 275/35/19, only 275/30/19. Treadwear number is the same but actual treadwear differs from each manufacture. I'm quite happy with both tires and don't have a compliant up to this point.

I wanted to try the Toyo T1-R's which I've heard great things about but I got such an awesome deal on both the Nittos and the Dunlops that I just couldn't pass up.

Good luck on your Nitto.....

I'm in San Diego, and although we get rain, its not that much. Now you got me worried about the rain, I don't want it to be unsafe...

They won't be "unsafe". There are other tires that are better in rain and others that are worse in rain. I wouldn't worry. It's not like you'll be sliding around. You'll have traction.

Installed them yesterday. MOre quite than the Michs 18's and ironicaly it was raining the day they put it on. No major events, just in the parking lot skitted when I accelerated normaly, maybe since it was a brank spanking new tire that it did that. In the freeway, drove great in rain with good tracktion.

Now, time to find replacement pads for my brembos (fronts...) Any suggestions?

Thanks again guys.
