Im in a 40k 2007 Infiniti G35 which also happens to be a NISSAN SKYLINE...
Actually.....I would say OMG and laugh my azz off. But hey, as long as you like it who cares. But remember, most of the people smiling at you as your driving around, just may be laughing at your badges.

Well, according to ndlive, you better go w/ the rebadge, so other won't mistaken you for one of those uneducated, image minded Infiniti owners! In fact, if you really want to appear smart, stick the skyline badge on a Sentra! I believe you get extra IQ points for that!

Just kidding guys - I've owned 5 nissans, well 6 including the current G35. Do whatever makes you feel better about your car, he11, make up a new fake brand/model altogether. The chicks will dig that

haha way to grossly exaggerate my post... when did i say all infiniti owners are uneducated and image minded? i was referring to a few who was in denial that our cars were nissans, and were "proud" to be driving an "infiniti" which is a symbol of status to them. and why would someone want to stick a skyline badge on a sentra? and how would that make you "smart," not a dumb@$$? i didn't say rebadging to a skyline makes you educated and smart, did i? please try harder. i was just saying that rebadging is a personal preference, and if you were familiar with the rich history and the heritage of a skyline back then, you would understand why some of us want to represent that instead of a made-up brand, albeit with a gt, not a gtr (until the gtr hits usdm of course )

anyway, this argument is getting old... same things being said everytime. the fact is, our cars are nissan v35 skyline coupes, adapted for us laws, branded as infinitis. except for the badges, seat logos, airbag cover, center caps and clock, everything says nissan. so if u really want an infiniti, change all the stickers, parts, engine, etc and turn it to one. but wait, by some of you guys' logic, if you put clear corners on, it wouldn't be an infiniti anymore, huh

"turn head"? head turners? Also the Skyline 350gt (japan) or the G35, is actually the V35 Skyline not the V36. This is an insanely stupid thread. Our cars are Skylines, DEAL!!! If you don't like skylines, then don't rebadge your damn cars. If you do, and want to rebadge your cars, more power to you. In no way what so ever is rebadging a G35 to reflect what is on the Japanese G35 ricey. If you do think this, then you really don't know anything about our cars. Lastly aren't our cars 35k not 40k?

Don't stop there - find a Datsun badge, or maybe even Prince!

No thanks, I got no beef w/ the Nissan burger. I'm just playing w/ you. In fact, a skyline badge would turn my head regardless of what it was stuck on. At least it would be 'true' on the new G. And, if you do rebadge, please post some cool pics! Peace brother

Well I guess you're calling me uneducated. I am well aware an Infiniti is a Nissan, just like an Audi or Lamborghini is a VW, just like a Lexus is a Toyota.

What you're doing is still cheesy and ricey.

Enjoy.

Have you see the Audi R8? ... it doesn't strike a resemblance to the Gallardo?

Oh and fyi the Gallardo has the same headunit, gauge cluster, window switches, and mirror **** that were in my Audi A4

My view on this Badging subject is that in Japan if you pay more for a car it's still badged as a Toyota or Nissan but in the U.S. the consumer wants to feel

above the rest/special if they're paying more money...that's why they came up with infiniti and lexus...

For all you fast n furious kids that think the only skyline is the gtr click this link http://www.nissan.co.jp/MUSEUM/SKYLINE/

I think it's perfectly fine to badge an Infiniti g35 as a skyline 350gt...now if you were re-badging it to a GT-R, I would laugh in your face...let me give you

another example: 350z to a Fairlady Z perfectly fine imo...what's not okay imo is badging a regular integra to a type-r...

I have alot of pictures in my hyper rev magazine that show Japanese guys with their 350gt's re-badged as infinitis, exactly how we do over here...It's

just a way to be different but not in a wrong way...I wouldn't do it personally but i did debadge mine

lol i wasn't specifically calling you uneducated. sorry if that offended you. it's not just that infiniti=nissan that some of us rebadge. it is because g35=skyline. maybe you just don't get that. and why would i want to find a datsun badge? did datsun make the skyline? yes it is nissan, but there's no "datsun skyline," is there.

http://www2.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/SPECIAL/top.html

go here and browse around. this is not a parallel to vw/lambo or any other examples that you came up with. name one car in the vw product line where it is the exact same car in lambo line. i don't appreciate you calling rebadging cheesy and ricey. maybe you just need to understand the fact that g35=skyline, and some of us like to reflect that fact. please understand the "cult-car" status and the heritage the skyline badge implies. what does the g35 badge imply? luxury? class? lol...

ah, much better link. thanks. yea, that's what bothers me too. some people seem to think that by rebadging some of us are pretending to be a skyline, which, to them, is a gtr. we do put on a 350GT badge, don't we? please educate yourselves on this subject further before calling it "rice." you really need to understand the legacy of the skylines to appreciate the name.

oh yea one more thing...remember when nissan was debating on whether to label the new GT-R a Nissan or an Infiniti...They chose to badge it a Nissan

because the GT-R is the Ultimate Skyline...I'm sure they got tons of mail on the subject...The Skyline enthusiasts would have been pissed if they labeled it an

Infiniti...Personally i wish our G's came badged as a Skyline 350gt as well...

I agree with many before me, the Skyline lettering is not my cup of tea. Here in the US Infiniti is considered a higher-end label while Nissan is a peoples car (I know 350Z's are nice and not peoples car but the Sentra and most other Nissans are). At least that’s the image I've noticed when talking with others. If you say you bought an Infiniti or Lexus people think luxury, while saying you bought a Nissan and Toyota, they think "practical".

I used to drive Porsches include a 944, 944T and 911 Carrera. I noticed people would re-badge to the European numbers as opposed to the US numbers and I sort of liked it but never did it myself. I would have certainly never changed the badge from Porsche 911 to Volkswagen 911.

I’m sure some in Japan put Infiniti G35 badges on their Skylines. It's fine by me if you put SKYLINE on your car if that’s you style. To each their own.
