Our exhausts run hotter than ever these days in an effort for better fuel mileage and less pollution causing more noise at cool-down.

Ok, can anyone explain then why some cars don't have that ticking/popping sounds after turning off? Do those car not need to "cool down"? Are those metals in those car so different from ours?

I have a car that dosen't make those sounds at all. My questions are all valid as we don't really seem to have any real answers, just a bunch of speculating. Please take no offense. I just really want to know too.
