Bought 03 G35 Coupe - things I should know?
wrong
it really doesnt matter what he said she said stuff..... i worked for several BIG car dealers and carfax is carfax.... they almost never make mistakes... if u trade that car in or sell it.. guess what, theyll go off carfax.. you cant say, yeah, carfax made a mistake,,........ right.. it doesnt matter, you could be the pope himself and swear up and down and youll receive crap for your car... if u paid 17k one week and total it or sell it, trade it whatever,, youll get maybe 7k if youre lucky the next week... insurance company dealer, whatever.. thats what theyll give you cuz I KNOW>> BEEN THERE!!! o yeah you saying, "yeah carfax made a mistake, theyre wrong," and the buyer, receiver will say, "o, ok ill give you full value now that you said that"" right..not even in a perfect world...
btw.... maybe it was in MANHEIM for a reason... if bought cars from auction site like manheim, bordentown, adesa.... theyre all accident salvage.. somewhat damged cars..........

Avoid the car at all costs, car salesmen are scum. When I bought my first G35c I made the mistake of trusting the salesman and not getting my (trusted) mechanic to do a full inspection, and found out later that it had been rear ended pretty badly and the owner had not maintained it very well. Traded the car in shortly afterwards.
Trust me, been there done that. All car salesmen are *******s who are out for your sale no matter what, and they have no morals, and furthermore they all will go through this righteous indignation schtick like his reply email when you catch them lying. Just walk away from this one, even if you have to pay a couple hundred bucks for ebay fee or whatever, you'll be happier you did.
I ended up trading in my 03 G35c half a year after I bought it, and now I'm on a hunt for an 05 G35c except this time I'm going with a legit dealer (no ebay or small car lots), running carfax and VIN at Infiniti, and getting my mechanic to do a full inspection before buying.
Good luck.

Here's what I think I should do:
- vehicle VIN check (reason I didnt check before auction ended was b/c when I was at last step to pay, it tells me the vehicle scored 91-95, so even though I dont have the full report I know it has no major flaws.)
- when my shipper picks up the car, I'll have him drop it off for full inspection in a authorized Infiniti dealership. They will help me check for major mechanical errors, odometer roll back, rust, fire/flood/hail damage, etc etc.
Do you guys have any idea how much it would cost? ~$300?
- have shipper match VIN of the car
Can you guys think of anything else? Thanks for constructive inputs.
UPDATE - SELLER REPLIED!!
"Think about this. Our G35 has all original body panels and a confirmed report that the Carfax glitch is an error. We bought the car from Manheim Auto Auction on a green light (certified, no frame damage). The car has no paint work aside from the front bumper cover for stone chips. You live far away, so I can understand the carfax scaring you. Perhaps a phone call or email would have been more appropriate than jumping to snap (wrong) conclusions based upon an erroneous Carfax. Have you seen the car? NO Have you had the car inspected? NO. Have you made a good faith effort to handle the transaction in a responsible manner? NO. I'll tell you what. Let's have your choice of Dealer or body shop within 10 miles of 19380 zip code check the car. If they confirm what I'm saying, you buy the car and rescind your false negative feedback. If they confirm your statements, then I'll remove my feedback left for you and yours for me remains. Sounds like a fair and equitable solution. Aside from the fact that you hadn't even arranged financing when you won our auction. That is against eBay's policies, just so you know. We're honest people and are not trying to pull one over on anyone. The bid was below wholesale for the car. Nobody was trying to pressure you to place a bid on a car you don't want. You should do your due diligence before you bid, and in htis case you would have learned that Carfax made an error. And you want to report ME to eBay? Right!"
How do I go about checking if carfax made an errornous report? what is the likelihood of that?
