Got good deal on G35, how much to pay for tinting (I live in Houston area)?
I am just about to purchase a G35 Journey Premium (garnet ember/graphite) with wood trim and splash guards included, and am talking with the dealer about adding 35% tint and other accessories to the vehicle.
Does anyone have an idea of how much it would cost to get this done on the side after purchasing the car? I live in Houston. The dealer wants $299, which I am sure is pretty high, but I did get such a good deal on the car ($32,631 + ttl , no dealer junk charges, $132 below invoice even before subtracting the $500 incentive, $34.4 OTD
), that I don't mind paying a little extra for the convenience of having it done already, and also to ensure that it is done right. If I could get it done at a good place for $100-$150, then I might prefer to wait and save the money, but if it's much more than that I probably would have the dealer do it.
Also, here is the price they are quoting me for other accessories:
Splash guards $188
Sunroof wind deflector $149
Clear bra: $595 for hood/fender/mirrors, $795 to add front bumper, $895 to add headlights.
These all sound high to me, since I know I can get the splash guards myself for <$100 and they are not that hard to install. I am not sure about the wind deflector -- is that easy to install? And I also have no idea about the pricing on the clear bra, but it does sound high to me. Anyone know what it would cost to get done after the fact?

dont have the dealer tint your G... all they do is call a tint shop and have a guy come out and they over charge you... you can have a good shop tint it for $200...
why do you want a wind deflector? those make the car look ugly...
as for the clear bra im not to sure but i know it will be cheaper than what the dealer quoted you... search to see what other members are paying...

I paid $140 for 20% all around for non metallic carbon based tint from somebody who knew what he was doing and I live in assrape california. Shop around. Dealer is not the place for tint.
Mud guards from the dealer are $90 an axle for the parts and come painted to match. If they want $188 to get them and install that's not a bad deal.
Clear bra is a rip. Get the armor plate or whatever nissan calls it on the whole car. it comes with a repaint warranty I think

The full clear bra can most likely be done for what they want for just the hood, fenders and mirrors. Find a good shop that does the clear bra and chances are they will tint as well. That way you can work a better deal on the tint and get both done in one shot. You can find installers in your area at www.invisiblepatterns.com or http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...ind_Installer/.
