White. In all states in the United States of America, the only colors you can display to the front on a public roadway LEGALLY are white and amber, unless you fall under the emergency vehicle exception rule, which you don't. Plus blue is rice and does not belong on your vehicle.

It's not impersonating an officer unless he is literally trying to do that. The actual violation would be "improper lighting to the front".

But legally, as far as the side marker is concerned, it must be amber in color and the reflector must also be amber according to federal standards

http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text....2.7.8&idno=49

"Reflex reflectors

On the rear—1 red on each side of the vertical centerline, at the same height, and as far apart as practicable

On each side—1 red as far to the rear as practicable, and 1 amber as far to the front as practicable"
It would fall under the "on the side rule" and is required to be amber.

And as for what color is should display...

"Side marker lamps

On each side—1 red as far to the rear as practicable, and 1 amber as far to the front as practicable "

So that means...in order to be 100% legal on the US roadway, you need to keep the stock amber sidemarker in and it must display amber light...but who has legal marker lights these days? I don't

I was just talking about lights to the front, not to the side.
