Tip the Service Manager?

I always tip my tech's but all my work is done on the side.
My brother who is a service manager at Nissan says that tipping your service manager/writer couldn't hurt, but it will just show him/her how much more you could have spent.
If it's warrantied work, tip. If not, don't unless you were taken care of. Remember that if a service writer discounts your service it is coming out of their monthly labor totals which they get commissioned on.

Maybe things are different here on the east coast. When I worked for a dealer in late 80's early 90's as a tech I got tips regularly. I sure as hell remember those people and did the little extra's on the vehicle.
As I stated in another thread 20 bucks goes along way. It could be as simple as the service manager making sure I'm first in and get my car back quickly. Could be when they do brakes they clean the inside of rim while it's off. All little things--but time saving things for me.

Anyway, I don't tip the service folks. I'm already paying too much for the parts and service as it is....

I'm more pissed off about the 2 hours than the $100.
