stuck in the middle...would appreciate advice

im trying to decide between an 06 s2k or an 06 g35 coupe...im kinda stuck in the middle of which car i want to settle on. the s2k only has 2 seats and although i love that i just dont know if thats practical in every day life but the g35 is big and heavy.

the things im really looking at are:
reliability/longevity (wont break down, lasts a long time, etc)
performance (speed and ride)
attention (car mods, rarity, etc)

you guys can list pros and cons for each car (although this is a g site lol) i just want to hear different opinions so i can hopefully make the right choice...even though i really dont think theres a wrong one

s2k is a honda meaning it will most likely (not always) last longer, the parts are cheaper to fix and your going to get better handling from it stock compared to the g

the g on the other hand is rarer can be made to handle better then the s2k and just plain looks sexier

ok, I have both cars .. an 06 S2k and an 05 G35C 6mt .... love both cars and are 2 different animals...

1. S2k .. bone stock and fast. Will tear up my G in handling .. a lot more conifident in my S when it comes to takeing fast turns.. a ton of mods to get for it.. will last a very long time.. 4 banger not much tq but once its hits 6k your gonna go fast.. I have raced a 350z, M3 and my friends new G37.. every race was very close.. 350z i would win most of the time.. hwy runs from 50-100 .. m3 i would lose every time .. however, my bumper would be at the m3's passanger door up to 100 mph then in 6th the M would walk away... i was amazed.. next my friends G37.. we raced from a launch everytime.. about 10 runs.. he would take my at the top of 3rd everytime, unless i would get a better start and it would be even at the end.. i cant speak about top end.. but my guess is going to be the G37 would win since i know the S2ks top end sucks unless u have mods.. im talking about 120+ ... i feel the dragg coeff has something to do regarding this.. top up of course.. I think the S2k is by far more rare than the G.. I hardly see any S2k on the road.. and i drive the coast line a lot from Ventura to SD .. i see more s2ks down south in OC... now on everyday use, the S2k is small, limited trunk capactiy and can get very annoying at times..

G- Good speed, Roomier, gas milage for ME is about the same as my S2k i punch it .. its classy, more sexy if you ask me, more cargo space. better stock sound system .. unfortunatly, its heavy.. the S2k is about 2800 lbs and the G is 4000 lbs lol.. the G is a car you can go long trips in , blast the music and relax.. it can also be the car u drop 2 gears from 6th to 4th and get up to 100 in no time..

to sum things up.. if you want a play toy, trouble free (low maint.), all out fun car thats great for the weekends, get an S2k ..boen stock fast and cheap.

if you want a Car that you can drive everyday in traffic or not, maybe long trips and be comfy, has speed to it and a sexy appealing interior with more space then get yourself a G... 6mt of course

last thing to do is drive both cars as many times as u can before u get it.. you will quickly know which one you want.

The S2K is a nice trackable daily driver and is much more reliable, depending on the year you purchase.

The G offers a but more luxury and class with more trunk space. Costs much more to maintain too.
Let's not forget to mention that there are more warranty issues with the G than the S2K like oil consumption, tranny and drivetrain problems, rattling, etc. All in all, I would say the G is a better choice if it wasn't such a hassle.

for a dd I prefer G... but for a track car and canyon carver, a modded s2K without a doubt! If I had room, I'd have both.

The 1st Gen G is less than 3400 pounds unless it's an AWD.

The S2K is lifeless below 6000 RPMs. For every day city driving, it's a 2 seat Civic with a lot less storage space.

tough tough...but from my experience.
my sister has a s2k, m3, and i have my G

she always complained of the space issue. stiff suspension, wind noise from the ragtop, lack of interior space, feels like a civic topdown...imo. its OK...crap feeling. feels like a lotus with a type R engine.just CRAMPED. i drove it for a while, and i agree.it is fun to rev to 8-9k.but feels it lacks comfort on long drives.

G - luxurious feel, roomier. has torque.feels good driving it.no windnoise, more practical between the two. more space. and all the other reasons mentioned

as someone mentioned, get both worlds, 350z? same price range... bigger trunk, quicker than a g.

cost maintenance, s2k wins hands down, easier to work with too...

i had to choose between an m3 n the G, the maintenance issue was the deal breaker for me...

GL

tell us what u end up with.
