Clear Coat Pealing

The clear coat on my girlfriends G35 bumper is starting to peal due to someone backing up into it a while back. We didn't notice anything until we saw some small cracks in the clear coat of the bumper. Now it is starting to peel some & don't know if there is a way to stop it without having to re-paint it. So what do you guys think?

Fri Guy, there's only one way to correctly fix your g/f's bumper and that's to have it sanded down and repainted.... Sorry, no quick/easy fix!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

I had a guy re-paint the front bumper a couple of years ago because of rock chips. I'm not sure if it was the paint he used or something else but now it chips real easy & there are about 20 rock chips now. I want to get the front & rear fixed & painted again but don't want this to happen again. I don't think it is normal.

You'd be more confused if I'd said "BUMPERS!"

not too serious a problem even if you got cash problem,
if it's a small job, go get your touch up paint at nissan or infiniti dealer,
if it's big job, get a spray can off of ebay, type in very general search like g35 or infiniti or nissan and then paint code to get the can you need,

next, clean the area, use degreaser to remove everything except paint, then use primer in the area of scratch with cotton swab or somethin small, then touchp up pain or spray it after you cover the area you don't want to paint again,
if there's a big crack - get a polymer resin or puddy type fillin, go to home depot or ace hardware (ask for a mix compound),

that'll take care of any bumper crack, and it'll outlast your old paint,

fixed

oh yeah,
use superglue if you're absolutely no cash,
still works but can't guaranteed more than several years though,
