My Dyno Run with non RevUp Plenum/Intake Manifold

Hey Everyone! I picked up a non revup intake manifold, upper and lower plenum off a wrecked g35 at a junk yard, had a little machine work done to them and bolted them up to my rev up motor. I threw a motordyne 5/16 spacer into the mix and headed to the dyno. I'm pretty happy with the results! My power curves are much fatter between 4k to 6k, but the car fall flat on it's face after 6k. I guess giving up a little peak hp for almost a 20tq to the wheel gain is justified. The car again is a 2006 g35 6mt, about 63000 miles on the clock with the just intake manifold and plenum mods, all else is stock. The dyno is the same dyno I had my baseline done at and I've attached a print out of my baseline vs my most recent runs. I'm happy with the numbers, but I think it could have been a little better. The conditions today were less than ideal, it was raining so the humidity was about 60% Anyway without further ado, the dyno plots!

And for the curious, a link to my baseline plot.

(Next in line some Strup TP's I found at the same wreckyard! Not too excited about the change in exhaust note though, I'll keep you guys posted!)

I just picked up a lower plenum off a non-rev up 350z today!!

Thanks for posting your results!

Where was the machine work done on the lower plenum?

I wanted to get some work done also before putting it in but didn’t know what to get done to get the increase in power.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nice! The older lower plenum makes the car so much more drivable in my opinion. Give up just a few peak ponies to gain 2X what you give up in the midrange. Sounds like an awesome deal to me. Anyway, I have a machinist that I've been going to for a while here in San Diego. He built a few heads for me a few years ago. He does very good work. He flattened out the front two runners for me, polished the lower plenum and intake manifold, and port matched the lower plenum to the intake manifold amongst other things. Let me know if you have anymore questions, I'll help ya out as best I can.

I would love to see what a non-revup plenum without any other mods would do.

That would be a good dyno chart to see. Wonder if anyone is willing to do that haha.

Hey I finally put in the non-rev up lower plenum. Gosh I love the extra torque. All I did was trim down the runner 1 and 2. I'll post up pics later. BTW I only have a Z-tube and I doubt I gained anything from that maybe 1-2 hp, mainly got it for the sound. So my comparison is a good one coming from stock.

My ghetto way of testing it was racing a car before and after. lol

Raced a friend's Trans-am V8, stick, with intake and straight pipe exhaust.

Before: We raced about 3-4 times from a roll. 40mph to 100/110mph. As soon as we started he would jump one car (all the v8 torque) and then it would stay that way until the whole race. All races he beat me by one car length.

After: Today, same car, same driver, raced again. About 4 times, with the same results! This time as soon as we started I stayed with him (he no longer got the hit and jumped infront). 40-100mph ,
I pulled 2.5 cars on him and kept pulling but we slowed down (100-110mph).

So I gained a total of 3.5 cars from this mod!!! Very Impress and really feel the difference, mainling the torque!!

I got a HR Y Pipe, that's going in next.

So your only mods are the non-revup lower plenum and the ztube?

More details on the actual modding (pictures if you can) would be great.

Is your friends T/A LS1? Cause if it is...it's either broken or he sucks driving. My G put down 240whp and my friends bone stock automatic T/A rapes me. I've seen bone stock 6mt T/A put down mid/low 13s in the 1/4 mile and high 12's with the mods your friend has...you should not be beating him.

Nice results.

A 'modified' non-revup oem lower collector is what a MREV2 is.

Hell no, lol a LS1 would whoop me. It's an LT1, I believe they are 300hp and 350 tq. Plus it has intake and straight pipe exhaust so it probably has more then that.

Oh well, that's more like it...lol. They were rated to 275hp or 285hp depending on the year but they made a lot of torque ( 325 or 335 depending on year ) which makes them quicker than the numbers suggest. Good kill.
