Another Warranty Question.

I am about to pick up a 2003 G35 coupe next week. It is going for $12,000 with only 60K miles on it. The problem is, it has a nonfunctional AC, the driver side heated seat doesn't work, one of the switch to move the driver seat also doesn't work and the CD player is jammed. On top of that, it hasn't gotten the 60K miles maintenance services done to it yet and the previous owner doesn't have warranty left on it. Should I get an extended warranty for this car? Thanks.

That seems like a headache to start off owning a G. Are you dead set on the car? I would want to know what's wrong the AC first. Does it need to be recharge? Broken compressor? AC repairs can get crazy expensive in a hurry. That 03 may have low miles, but miles aren't the only thing to look at. My 06 has 69k miles and non of those problems.

I brought it to a mechanic and he said it has to do with the compressor, something he can fix.

She would have to change her name or buy another IP coupe if she didnt get this one.

Nah the compressor could be the fact they overfilled the system and it blew out the gasket. Easy fix but cost some money if not i google it for you and heres a link for a used refurb w/ 6month warranty for $150 shipped

If i was you though i would look at the cost to fix it compared to the cost of the warranty. With our year they sometimes have leaky valve covers. The radio is probaly broke and will need to be replaced its a common issue with our cars. It will have to be taken apart and fixed. Or a used dd and radio is around 600-800. The seat you may find someone parting out. I dont know where your from but its just a luxury when its cold if you can deal with that i would not worry or if you need to move it back and forth just ebay a switch.

These cars are going for cheap nowadays its upto you but i would look for something in the 05 with a revup and warranty already on it. The 60k on these is just a flush and grease for the bushings. Hope that helps.

I have an ivory pearl sedan now but wanted a coupe and yes, it's also another ivory pearl. =]

I got a quote on how much to fix the AC and it came up for $700. The radio isn't broken, only the CD player, which isn't much of a big deal for me because I will probably use my ipod anyway. Being from Minnesota, I became quite fond of the heated seats on my sedan last winter, I would probably want that working for this upcoming winter as well.. and maybe a remote starter.

But thank you for looking that up for me, I will look into that when I get the car!

Ah switched to the dark side with the coupe. Damn 700 you can buy new for cheaper then that, but i guess with a flush and refill. Yeah im from PA/NJ so heated seats are a plus. Anyways welcome aboard any other questions let us know.

I bought a 2 yr /24k mile Infiniti Elite warranty ($900) for my 04 last year when it had 49k miles on it. The lady on the forum was Courtney from an Infiniti dealer somewhere in Arizona I believe. I've definitely gotten my money's worth.
