Who is still using premium gas.
its not really possible for me to be in grandma mode. lol i normally shift around 4k on average. if 89 is 3.19 here, 93 is prolly around 3.45 or so.
oh well, gotsa have the gas. and im workin on puttin my bike back on the road, but it might not get too great of gas mileage as its a built big bore motor with flatslides....but we'll see.

And how many times have I told others to RTFM?
That'll learn me . . .
So now I can play around with regular in this season, jack it up to medium in the Spring. It's not the diff per tank so much as the good feeling spending a few bucks less than the other guy . . . or NOT spending more than the other other guy.
I believe in the sensible use of money, and putting premium in my AT sedan turns out not to be that.

Uhm, my manual states to use premium and I have 5/AT...
edit: nvm, he's talking about sedans 5/at.

Because it's not ****ty gas? It just has different properties.
Premium! I stare at the other choices remembering what it was like back in the day when $10 would fill your car up...but, we have bad *** cars and thats the price we pay for our bad *** cars. Cant roll in style and be cheap about it...
Damn right! If I'm paying extra for it I want to make sure I'm getting it all.....Wow I sound as cheap as my parents
My (apparently) spoiled rotten 17 y.o. daughter complains about driving my wife's 07 G35X because she prefers driving my 03 F150 4x4 with oversized mud tires (I'm pretty sure she is a red neck). I try to keep the truck parked since it gets 14 mpg on a good day. She was whining the other day about it and I told her she could drive it all she wanted....but the tank was empty and she could buy the gas. She's been pretty quiet.
At least the gas guzzling truck runs just fine on regular. I'm beginning to wonder which is cheaper, the 24mpg coupe running high test or the 14 mpg truck running regular. Time to get out the calculator.
You believe the marketing folks who label it "premium"???
only premium. ethanol is bad. don't know if that's the case in the states but it is in canada. only premium guarantees good clean fuel. I never look at the price of gas because I need it regardless and there is no point in getting mad mad.
All modern cars have knock sensors and the ECU has the ability to adjust to to grade of fuel thats being used. So no, your car wont explode or break down. However you wont get the promised performance out of your car and it might be sluggish and return poor gas mileage. Like everyone said its, high compression so our motors need something thats harder to burn than regular grade fuel (87).
That being said; I run nothing but 93 octane on my car from Shell or BP. (I guess it all marketing crap, but I like how the gas stations look nice and clean)
