No, people who can afford a new one dont complain about $2 dollars extra. The only ones who complain are the ones who buy a 03-04 used one for 12-14k. But for reason I have noticed that eventhough they paid 14k, they still consider it a 40k car. They even look down on or talk crap about people who buy a new Hyaundi or Kia that actually costs more.

Same exact thing happens to people who buy a used BMW or MB.

The Shell Station near my house just swapped out old tanks for new ones a year back as well.
Well aren't you a lucky guy, the best gas I have found up here is at fleet farm. They have 91 with no ethanol in it. All of the other gas stations are off name/brand.

$2 is still $2. It adds up eventually. i know it's not a big margin at one point but over time. I still use premium but can see where some people come from. Some people that own any car that requires premium will always complain about the added cost of the gas they "should" put in their cars.

haha, somehow I find this highly unrealistic. Unless there is a weird side to him that I don't know about.

.
These same people will complain about 3 dollars for a gallon of gas, but yet still pay 5 dollars for 12 oz of starbucks coffee or 3 dollars for a 12 oz bottle of water.

That is true and a very solid point. I guess they just don't know how to spend their monies correctly.

I wish you guys who claim to be getting 27-28mpg tell me how you get it. Are you all 6MT?
! don't think I've done better than 23mpg on pure highway driving. Is my foot that heavy? Is it the gas you use?

I was pumping 91 and got 25 mpg highway going 80 with cruise control. Had half a gallon of gas and drove 80 until it was on E and came out to 25 mpg

I got 25mpg with the last fillup with my 06 6MT....but that is almost 100% highway under 80mph.

And just for clarification, I'm the OP and have not complained about the prices. I just wanted to know if the higher prices were pushing people to use a lower grade gas. And for me the difference in a few dollars a tank ($6 or more) has nothing to do with something trivial like coffee or beer. As stated earlier, it is cutting into my Jack Daniels and Johnny Walker (Black). And that I don't care who you are....that hurts.
