Low balling

For record I did not write this clip , But It's definitely is worth sharing,
I'm trying to sell an item on the370Z.com site and these guys are absolutely ridiculous low ballers , I've sold tons o stuff on driver and I've never but never been low balled like this , I knew that there was a reason that i didn't
like Z guys! Infiniti brothers have tons more class..........."That's right , I said it"

Ever year around spring time, I decide to do a little cleaning up around
my place, and while doing so I find all kinds of car parts tucked in the corners
of my closets or inside boxes sitting in my living room. When you live where
I do , your pad doubles as a storage locker.
Thankfully, my Wife doesn't mind the eyesore, but when the pile starts to get
too big, it comes time to start selling some stuff.
I'm not a hoarder by any means - I hold onto parts for good reason. The likelihood
that they can be used on a next project car is very high. However, the parts that I
deem unnecessary get listed on local forums and Craigslist.
I don't know if it's just me, but the business of slinging used car parts has
changed quite dramatically lately. For the most part, Ifind the days of asking fair
value (and someone actually paying for it) are all but gone.
Now, it's a dirty game of low-balling and back-and-forth emails
until either a reasonable price is reached or Itell them I'd rather
burn the part than sell it tor that cheap.
What happened to having some courtesy when bartering?
Oh right, the Internet came along and now everyone hides
behind a monitor with little repercussion. Try low-balling
someone at a swap meet, and chances are you'll be mocked
and laughed at. I swear I spend more time replying to low -ball
offers than people with legitimate interest. Just recently, I had
someone offer me a baby pit bull as a trade for my stock tntegra
seats, even though my ad specifically said looking for cash only.
I guess it's time Istop responding to these ridiculous emails, but l"II,
for some reason I think with a witty reply they'll clue in and
maybe I'll save the next victim from their low-ball crime.
We're all looking for a bargain - after all. that's what makes buying used parts so
good - but the low-balling must stop.
And it starts with you. Make reasonable offers.

Sorry Bill, but that's why you should always price whatever you're selling higher than what you'd accept as to have room to deal with the more reasonable low-ballers. Unless I'm hurting for room and/or cash, I'd rather just keep the items...

Usually I just ignore the extreme lowballers or send them nonsensical replies or pictures/gifs insulting them like this:

I have more of a problem with flakers - they all can burn in hell.

To many low balling on the forms. I don't think i ever change the price when i bought from someone. What ever price i bought items for is what they got.

I agree 150%....It happens all the time. Craigslist seems to be the worst but even Ebay can be bad with people who don't understand the concept of how an auction works. Long ago before Ebay I used to do a lot of swap meets...it got to the point that I carried a hammer with me for the scratch and dent Mustang sheetmetal I had. Had a guy walk up and ask for a price on a tail light panel with a ding in it...I said $10(this was a $70 panel)...he said "Take $5?)...I rolled my boot across it folding in nearly in half in the grass and calmly said...Sure, now I will. He looked at me like I was crazy...that was well worth it. From that day forward I kept a hammer and would beat a panel when I got an insulting offer...which fortunately was fairly rare but now with Computers people have the nerve to speak or insult people like they never would in face to face conversation. Sure everyone wants a deal but be realistic about it....

Your response to the baby pitbull should have been "Is that white or dark meat?....I really only eat white meat."

No malice intended, but respect? Who? The guy over here on another forum talking $hit about them?

You "hate" 350Z guys? They "eat their mothers?"

G Drivers have "more class?" You think?

I understand about the low-ballers and the frustration, but you're lowering yourself with comments like that. Be the bigger man - ignore them, or confront them face to face. If you don't like the offer, don't take it and move on. Simple. Kids will be kids - regardless of their age.

I just ignore low ballers, not even worth a PM back. I price all of my items very fair and don't expect to move much lower than what I price it for.

Or instead of stressing over them and writing a published novel about your teggy, you could simply ignore it and move on? (I know you pasted that teggy story but just in general)

I dont know how hard it is after reading an email/PM with a low ball offer to just close it and move on to the next offer...

B you just need more buyers like me to restore your confidence in the process.

I've had nothing but positive experiences (knock on wood) on here. I've also had good luck on Craigslist locally. But I know that there are losers out there and would just ignore them.
