Red face Do I NEED spacers to put G37 Wheels on my G35 Coupe?

Just ordered a set of G37 wheels that I want to put on my G35 Coupe. Do I absolutely need spacers to put them on? Can I not drive the car or put the wheels on safely and effectively without spacers? Or are spacers more for the look?

Please help. Thanks!

What size? 20mm for the front and 25mm for the back? Any suggestions on where to purchase?

Just curious, what would happen if I put the wheels on with NO spacers?

Can I put them on without spacers TEMPORARILY? Will it do any damage to the wheels/car? I want to put the wheels on this weekend and add spacers in a few weeks when I purchase them. Is that feasible?

Thanks for your help by the way.

EDIT:
It looks like this white G35 Coupe has them without spacers on so I guess it's still driveable without spacers, just not very appealing. Can someone please confirm?

Unless you have a BBK you'll be good with them on and no spacers.

spacers serve an aesthetic purpose. otherwise, they are not required for the car's wheel to be functional, neither are they required from a safety standpoint. Having no spacers on the car will not damage your car in any way. Because you wouldnt have the spacers on, your new G37 wheels will look sunken in. You can order spacers at a later point in time. To figure out the correct size of spacers to order you need to consider the following:

- f/r wheel width & offsets of the new g37 wheels
- are you planning to drop the car at all, or keep it stock height
- there are additional factors to consider if you are planning to go low (camber, tiresize, etc.)

I have two Quarter-Inch (~6mm) and two 1/8th Inch (~3mm) spacers. I'm guessing these won't do much, eh?

Thanks Ryan! I'll keep a lookout in the G Forums for 25mm spacers for sale.

Amazing some members answer questions without knowing the answer, kinda like flipping a coin....heads yes/tails no. Post some pic when you get your G37 wheels installed....that's a very cool look!
