I would never put Royal Purple in any of my motors and I sure as hell wouldnt drive 12k miles between changes.

I've come to realize that a good quality oil is a good quality oil. So, to each his own.

Mobil 1, Castrol Edge, Amsoil. I would use conventional oil before I used Royal Purple. Again, its a matter of preference, but I like to see how dirty my oil is when I change it. I also believe it is way overpriced.

Well Paixao... I have used Mobil1 for years and all kinds of different oils. I finally tried Royal Purple in my 07 GSXR 750. I will never use anything else again. I am amazed at how smooth the Tranny shifts now and just about every aspect of the oil has impressed me.

I know its dark in color, but who cares what the oil looks like if your changing it every 3,500 miles or whatever anyhow. Are you a used oil connoisseur? Can you look at the dirty oil on your dip stick and know what your engine is doing?

I never said that Royal Purple was not a good oil. I just havent seen anything that justifies its price and therefore would never put it in my motor. I just dont think its any better than some of the other synthetics.

I was once a religious Mobil 1 user and when I switched to Castrol Edge I noticed a difference in how my engine ran. Oil analysis proved that Castrol Edge protected my motor better than Mobil 1. Thats good enough for me considering I daily drive my car and change my oil every 3k miles.

FWIW even though Amsoil has been proven time and time again to be a superior motor oil, I wouldnt use it either.

Mobil 1 is still a good oil, my brother still uses it regularly in his VQ35DE and has had no problems. I like the way my motor runs with Castrol Edge and you like the way yours runs with Royal Purple. Again, as I said before, to each his own.

Ok members, the subject of what oil works best for our VQ motors has been the subject of discussion for years and there is no right answer. It's all about personal preference, bottom line! The way I arrived at my decision was reading an oil comparison chart, where they broke down the synthetic after 1K miles. At the time I was using RedLine 10W/30 and immediately switched to AMSOIL due their findings, cost is about the same. I would never go 7K miles between oil changes. You can see the result of do so by reading members complaints about OC....one just last night!

haha title fail. I clicked on the thread expecting to see a beautiful new unique color on your car OP.

And all I got was the same old BS about oil. Oh well, at least it's Saturday.

Again with the oil. Go to bobs the oil guy and read for a few days, send your used oil in for testing, make changes based on results. Saying you can tell a difference between changes is like saying poweraid makes you run faster than Gatorade.

Kuneff I'm assuming you mean RP throughout not just in the engine for the tranny shifting. Just changing tranny fluid will shift smooth anyway.

As long as you change it you can run wally world brand unless you are racing on a road course it doesn't matter and in that case you better not touch what's on the shelf anyway.
