OEM Navi screen

So my car is one of the few that doesnt have the oem navi system, now I know the g35 navi isnt really anything special and the only useful thing is how it can monitor how many miles left on gas tank.

I was flipping thru the forums on g35driver and wanted to see who has a custom replacement for where the oem navi goes. Anyone put in a car pc into their car or has everyone done just a double din set-up.

Post your pix here of your set up's and idea of what would be sweet. Im thinking getting a comp from mp3car.com and putting in the trunk while running a vga up to front so I can surf web and use multi features in the car.

Let me know what you guys think

A JDM double din would be the best option. Retro fitting the OEM Nav requires a new in cabin wire harness.

You can get the double din trim kit from any oem part supplier. I do recommend OEM Nissan over metra.

I also say dont waist your money on this. Get something from best buy, radio shack, etc., for something that is only a few hundred bucks vs. A few grand

Glex you've done something similar to what I plan to do in my '06.

Feel free to expect questions sometime in the future.

yea im sure itll cost a pretty penny to retrofit something, just dont like how only options are double din. I want it looking stock and yet still having a nice size screen for music videos, dvd, maybe pc features.

yea that g37 set up is what Im talking about, getting that apple mini and integrating it into the car is sweet. I mean paying $599 for that is not bad, but the dilemma is how does someone intgrate it into their car system with ease? Like I have the base model with no nav system, Id like to get either a touch screen added or maybe utilize the oem nav harness and put a screen there with a wireless pad to move the mouse around if possible.

What you guys think?
